Bucks County Wedding Photographer | Aldie Mansion | Michelle + Chris

Wedding

The day before Michelle and Chris’ wedding was their 9 year anniversary.  That’s pretty impressive.  And, judging by what I’ve seen of them together, there are going to be decades upon decades more for these two.  Their wedding at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown (you know I love that place!) was chock full of fabulous, face-hurts-so-good smiles.

Michelle wore a marvelous blush trumpet Maggie Sottero gown with exquisite lace and a flattering sweetheart neckline.  Michelle’s loose curls somehow held their shape all day and she looks positively radiant!

Getting the dress on Michelle was quite the procedure and one of the most hilarious parts of the day.

Oh, and those colorful shoes!

Thankfully, Michelle and Chris opted for a first look before the day really got going.  I always love this approach to weddings at Aldie because there are so many great places for images all over the grounds.

We gathered the wedding party for some fun pictures in front of the fountain before the guests arrived and walked to the ceremony under the big oak tree in the back of the estate.

The ceremony was held under overcast skies but the mood was just right.

Everyone in attendance raved about the venue.  Guests mingled outside on the patio and wandered through the library for beverages, snacks, and to sign the wish tree that Michelle’s mother made out of branches that came from Michelle’s childhood home (and she individually painted each card).

The newlyweds entered their reception and danced to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran.  Halfway through the song, guests got into it and made the dance truly memorable.

The reception was a blast!  In addition to the smashed cake, note Michelle’s bracelets.  One was a gift from Chris, the other was made by Michelle mother out of a necklace Michelle’s grandfather brought back from Japan.  Her sister, Danielle, wore its twin.

This was definitely a dancing group.  Everyone was out on the floor – even grandma!

We snuck out for a few minutes to grab some shots at night.

It was a fabulous event and I feel so honored to have played with these two and their wonderful families all day.

So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are

Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Morris House Hotel | Elise + Eric
Elise and Eric wanted their wedding day to be super low key.  Well, Elise did.  She would have happily eloped.  Eric is more of a traditionalist.   This combination resulted in a gorgeous fall wedding day for the two at the Morris House Hotel with 49 guests. I was enamored of Elise’s cloudlike wedding gown that breezed behind her as she walked.  It had a floral embroidered top set against an illusion neckline and back.  She wore the daintiest set of pearls – a meaningful strand that has been in her family for ages. Elise bemoaned the fact that white wedding shoes were so hard to find.  I don’t understand th ...

Joanne + Glyn: An Elopement in San Francisco
On Tuesday I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Joanne and Glyn. They came over from Newcastle, England to get married and honeymoon around the States. Their tiny ceremony and 3 week honeymoon will be followed by a grand reception when they return home. They ran into a few speed bumps along the way, namely lost luggage that arrived the night before the ceremony and our silly Labor Day which required them to trek to City Hall the day of the ceremony rather than Monday as they had planned. Oops.Everything fell into place. Joanne had massive butterflies and was just shaking with excitement. They married in the Marriott at Fish ...
