Carolyn + Jeremy: Engagement Session at UPenn

Engagement

I met with Carolyn and Jeremy the other week at the University of Pennsylvania, where Carolyn went for undergrad, for their e-session. She had given tours during her tenure there so we got a great walk around the campus. Carolyn is from the Philly area though the couple now lives in Boston. They’ll be celebrating their wedding in April at St. Thomas Church of Villanova and Philadelphia’s Down Town Club.

We started by the Fisher Fine Arts Library to warm up from the blustery day. Who knew they had stairwells like this?

It was chilly, but really, who cares?

It’s a fantastic campus and I learned a great many things about these two: Jeremy’s brief stint as a model, the marathons and half marathons they do for kicks, Carolyn’s apparent love for trashy TV during serious life moments, Jeremy’s inability to finish cheesesteaks (for shame!)…

I believe the pickup line was “Are you tired? Because you’ve been running through my head all day.” Always a winner.

So Jeremy proposed to a starving and “comfortably” dressed Carolyn. He came back from a business trip and presented her with a silver plated picture frame. He proceeded to tell her it could be used for a wedding picture and then popped the question. Meanwhile, Carolyn had NJ Housewives in the background while eating pizza, and had just come back from a rained out golf tournament. I love it! (She wiped her hands and said yes, by the way.)

They’re hilarious, beautiful, and so laid back.

Though we passed up a photo op at the button, we ended at New Deck Tavern to warm up again and get a few beers.

I can’t wait for the wedding next Spring. It’ll be a blast!

Chester County Engagement Photographer | Longwood Gardens | Jennifer + Mark
Many people who meet at school do so over beer in some bar. Not Jennifer and Mark. They’re far classier than that nonsense. They met at a wine tasting at Oxford. Mark is very, very into wine (he was president of the Oxford University Wine Society) and they promise to divulge some great wineries to me for my future travels. This is often a focal point for their travels as they both love wine and cooking.Though they both live in England, Jennifer grew up in Penn Valley and so they came back for their engagement session (and their wedding at the Atrium at the Curtis Center this August). It was a blustery but bright day when we wandered aro ...

New York City Engagement Photographer | Manhattan | Valentine + Erich
Valentine and Erich met at a New York City dive bar.  To be fair, they were both there for a friend’s birthday party.  They were introduced as having music in common – Valentine had a radio show in college and Erich is an accomplished musician.  They hit it off. I met with them in Washington Square Park in Manhattan for their engagement session.  They feel New York is very much them and couldn’t imagine doing their engagement session anywhere else.  They (especially Valentine) love food, do a lot of exploring around the city, trying out restaurants, theater, and wine. The park was hopping that day.  I witnessed a flashmob-dance-turn ...
