Carolyn + Jeremy: Engagement Session at UPenn

Engagement

I met with Carolyn and Jeremy the other week at the University of Pennsylvania, where Carolyn went for undergrad, for their e-session. She had given tours during her tenure there so we got a great walk around the campus. Carolyn is from the Philly area though the couple now lives in Boston. They’ll be celebrating their wedding in April at St. Thomas Church of Villanova and Philadelphia’s Down Town Club.

We started by the Fisher Fine Arts Library to warm up from the blustery day. Who knew they had stairwells like this?

It was chilly, but really, who cares?

It’s a fantastic campus and I learned a great many things about these two: Jeremy’s brief stint as a model, the marathons and half marathons they do for kicks, Carolyn’s apparent love for trashy TV during serious life moments, Jeremy’s inability to finish cheesesteaks (for shame!)…

I believe the pickup line was “Are you tired? Because you’ve been running through my head all day.” Always a winner.

So Jeremy proposed to a starving and “comfortably” dressed Carolyn. He came back from a business trip and presented her with a silver plated picture frame. He proceeded to tell her it could be used for a wedding picture and then popped the question. Meanwhile, Carolyn had NJ Housewives in the background while eating pizza, and had just come back from a rained out golf tournament. I love it! (She wiped her hands and said yes, by the way.)

They’re hilarious, beautiful, and so laid back.

Though we passed up a photo op at the button, we ended at New Deck Tavern to warm up again and get a few beers.

I can’t wait for the wedding next Spring. It’ll be a blast!

It was drizzly and traffic was bad but the colors were incredible, the location was perfect, and Elizabeth and Matthew were awesome. The last time I saw them was on a cold and rainy day last December as they said their vows in a small wedding at Philadelphia City Hall. Now, as the old married couple that they are, we romped around Valley Forge National Park for a love shoot. This was a pretty ideal location for them. Elizabeth worked at VFNP this past summer, keeping her nose to the ground looking for birds’ nests. They’re both very active and love the outdoors. They had actually just come back hiking in the Delaware Water Gap and campi ...

Philadelphia Anniversary Photographer | Old City | Vanjul + Adarsh
Vanjul and Adash’s session is like an engagement session but a few years after the fast. They were actually married 3 years ago in India but they don’t have any pictures of themselves from their day so they decided to make up for lost time with a sweet session in beautiful (albeit very chilly) Philadelphia. Though there wasn’t rain the day of our session, they brought it to commemorate the rain that came down in buckets on the day of their wedding, long enough for everyone to get soaked. Vanjul currently lives in Philadelphia, finishing her residency in pulmonology while Adarsh is in Connecticut finishing his residency in ca ...
