I feel pretty important that these two homebodies ventured out of their house to come out for an engagement session with me. We took a stroll around the beautiful grounds of Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA.
They spend most of their free time on home projects for their fixer upper in Perkasie, PA. I’m completely impressed that Devin has taken care of plumbing, electrical, flooring, and painting everything (then again, I haven’t seen the place so there’s that). He now has an arsenal of tools and just figures it out when there’s an issue.
Despite being a self-proclaimed homebody, Kelsie is outgoing and peppy. She has a tendency to fall but keeps a smile on her face at all times. On the contrary, Devin stays tight-lipped but Kelsie gets him to let out grins despite himself.
He doesn’t like holding hands either. That doesn’t stop Kelsie.
I love going to Longwood Gardens with couples for their first trip. It is such a magical place. I was thrilled to see that the new fountains were up and running.
The pair met 4.5 years ago as co-workers. She was seeing someone else but they clearly got along.
Fast forward to this past Christmas Eve when a last minute switch meat that their families were having dinner together at Kelsie’s family’s house. Her family knew he had a ring and was planning on proposing. After a toast over dinner, her father gave the floor over to Devin and he popped the question.
He had had the gorgeous Verragio ring (with help from an awesome sister – platinum outside with a band of rose gold inside!) since Thanksgiving but had been teasing her by showing her cheapie rings online and asking her opinion.
I will be seeing them again in about a year for their wedding at Holly Hedge Estate. I can’t wait!
