In Texas Getting Schooled

Personal

I’m going to be M.I.A. for the next few days. I’ll be in San Antonio, Texas for a photography convention. I’ll be spending my days steeped in educational workshops, industry discussions, kick ass shoot-outs, an overwhelming expo, and generally getting my photo on!

I thrive on learning and get so psyched for the yearly convention. Remember that nerdy kid who loved taking notes and using her highlighters? Yeah, that was me. I’m thrilled for the hands-on fun and classroom lessons.

If you’re another photographer attending either the DWF Convention or Imaging USA and want to meet up for coffee of drinks, just let me know!

Because of this, I can’t guarantee my response time to emails for the next week. I promise to respond as soon as I return. You can always try me on my cell at 215-703-7717. If you’ve even been to these conventions, you know that they’re intense!

See you in a week!

The great aim of education is not knowledge but action.

She’s been around through some of the hardest and most spectacular times in my life. She has comforted me when I’ve cried and joined in on dance parties when I’ve celebrated. She has lived with me in 5 different states. She can be too smart for her own good. She is the best cuddler I know but has a problem with bed wetting. She loves to run but has no patience for my hobby of running just for the sake of it. She’s a great listener. She has a mouth on her, but only really in front of her friends. She thinks naps are just about the greatest things in the world. This superlative also extends to basking in the sun, unattended food, road ...

I Ran the Disneyworld Marathon to Stop MS
People run marathons all the time. I know this and yet the process felt so personal. Perhaps it’s because all of the training is solo and because I do it all for me.  I’m not competing against anyone but myself. Working up to the race took hours upon hours of running, logging over 1000 miles last year in anticipation for my very first 26.2 miles in Orlando, Florida for the Disney World Marathon last Sunday. In 2011 I completed Philly’s Broad Street Run in May, the Chicago Rock n Roll half marathon in August, and the Las Vegas nighttime Rock n Roll half marathon in December. When I started running 2.5 years ago, I never thought I’d r ...

I’ve got a date tonight!
I am a huge proponent of online dating. When you’ve seen as many weddings and heard as many love stories as I have, you find out really fast that online dating is awesome and effective.Last January I found a particular specimen online and thought to myself, “Hmmm… he looks interesting.”  I clicked on him as a ‘favorite’ and accidentally alerted him to the fact that I had been window shopping and found something I liked. “It doesn’t matter,” I thought, “I don’t have any pictures up and my profile is pretty sparse and snarky so he won’t think twice about it.”  Turns out he did. We chatted and agreed to meet at Tinto one year ago to ...
