I visited Valley Forge National Historical Park a few weeks ago on a scouting mission for a project. I went during “golden hour” and the place was list up beautifully. There’s really no better time for lovely, sun-drenched pictures than the hour or so before sunset. I try to schedule all of my shoots around this time so that I can get this gorgeous look. Photographers refer to this as “golden hour” or “magic hour”. It’s easy to see why.

Enjoy!

These are moments filled to the brim with family and love. I believe in love because I see it, photograph it, talk to it, and edit it every single day.Love is something that I have believed in since I was very young and in Catholic school. I believed in it when I moved to the South for college. I believed in it in graduate school when I volunteered at a resource hotline for the LGBT community in the Raleigh-Durham area. Black hole.Delaware Water Gap? Black hole.Poconos? Black hole. Those are just this past year. I bring my camera on adventures and of course I feel compelled to document things but then comes the editing. I can’t bring myself to edit personal pictures when there is so much more I should be doing: emails, marketing, editing for clients, phone calls, meetings, weddings, engagements, families, card designs, blog posts, etc.Why edit them at all? A picture does ...

2012 Year in Review and Facebook cover images
2012. Oh, man, what a year! All year long I felt like I was floating. A phrase that seemed to be on repeat: “I am so lucky.”Professionally, I shot some of the most incredible weddings I have ever seen in my life. I’m utterly convinced that I have the most loving, most creative, happiest, and best clients anyone could ever ask for. I have laughed so hard, cried, and rejoiced with hundreds of people this year and it has been magical. I worked on so many marvelous weddings, engagements, newborns sessions, maternity sessions, boudoir sessions, surprise proposals, families, headshots, magazine spreads, product shoots, and more. I’ve teamed up ...
