Engagement
This engagement session, and quite frankly the relationship, is pretty pooch-centered. I mean, it’s kind of hard not to fall for a happy, floppy goldendoodle. She was just 9 pounds when they took her home but Tobi, at 50 lbs now and celebrating her 1 year birthday, is pretty full grown with all of the energy that you’d expect.
But let me back up to the beginning of Lindi + Michael.
Their story is fabulous! They met online (hooray!). Michael noted that she was attractive, charming, and, most importantly, active. Michael messaged Lindi but didn’t have much of a profile up so she (understandably) didn’t respond. Michael had the gall to call her out on this, eventually giving her his name so she could do some creep-checking. She hilariously looked him up on Athlinks, a website for athletes’ race results, was impressed with his times, and gave him a chance.
They met up for coffee for their first date. She was training for a marathon and he an Ironman. Their second date was a run through Central Park.
There were obviously undeniable sparks because they got Tobi and moved in together within 3 months.
In July of this year they went walking on the beach while vacationing with the family. Michael had plans to propose then but they were kicked off the beach for having a dog. Through much coercion, he finally convinced Lindi to go back out for another walk later when he popped the question.
I met up with this adorable, fast trio the other week on a beautiful fall day at Haverford College, near where Lindi grew up.
It was such a joy to get them (relatively) still for a little while. I can’t wait to see them again at their wedding at Pomme next March!
There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.
