Main Line Newborn Photographer | Bryn Mawr Home | Nora

Family

Little baby Nora made her parents work for her arrival.  There is something called a Nurse’s Curse and Deirdre got it.

I’m not going to get graphic but Nora was late and then caused one hell of a ruckus to get out.  This included running late, water breaking to start the stopwatch, vacuum, forceps, retained placenta, and a couple units of blood for Deirdre.  9+ pound Nora was larger than expected.

Have I mentioned that Deirdre is a labor and delivery nurse?  That just seems unfair.  But then there’s this face!

But here she is with soft, fuzzy hair that, from the back, makes her look a bit like Sonic the Hedgehog.

Nora has no problem staying wide awake and only shut her eyes momentarily while we were together.

Pete is such a good guy.  They were not finding out the sex of the baby before the birth.  Pete ordered necklaces with each initial to be able to give Deirdre the N when the baby was born.

They are adjusting well to the Lug Nut (one of their nicknames for her) and, as expected, keeping things lighthearted in the process.

I love being with them for all of their goofiness and apparent love.  It was great to bring my camera to them again at their home in the halls of Baldwin School where we also did their engagement session.

Nora is one lucky lady and will no doubt grow up in a home with oodles of love and laughter.

Boston Family Photographer | Tess & Co.
Andy, Asher, and I spent last weekend on a blink of a trip to Boston to spend time with Andy’s relatives for a Passover-ish get together.  We drove on Friday night and arrived just after midnight and left again early Sunday.  It wasn’t nearly enough time but we made the most of it. Of course I brought my camera to capture pictures of the tiny cousins.  Tess is 9 months old; Asher is 18 months old.  Asher has had plenty of time in front of my lens and I found that I just couldn’t get enough of the super-cheeked, huge blue-eyed creature with the crazy hair.  Little Tess. I think I witnessed her first experience with maracas.  Sh ...

[what to wear] family sessions
Stumped, huh? How on earth do you reconcile all of those personalities into pleasing pictures? Well, it's not so hard.Sometime in the 90s it was decided that people should all wear white shirts and jeans or khakis for family pictures. Set yourself free from that idea right now! You don't want to dress all in the same exact outfit and look like the Von Trapp family or a soccer team. You're each unique individuals so wouldn't you want that to come out in your pictures? You want to go for complimentary, not mirror, looks. Here are some tips:* Take the location and season into account. That sundress may be cute as can be but it's just not g ...

Main Line Newborn Photographer | Collins
This little bean had an army of love around her since before she was born. Colleen and Karl didn’t find out until game day that Colleen’s baby bump was a little girl. They debated for a while over names and finally decided on Collins Lillian, Collins being Colleen’s maiden name and Lillian for the feminine first name that her mother was given but never used.I eagerly met Collins about 11 days after she was born and spent a few hours with her.  I love that this is the same home in Bryn Mawr where I photographed the Colleen and Karl's engagement session and Colleen's maternity session. There were times that the session got a bit overwhelm ...
