Wedding
Why pick one or two wedding colors when you can have them ALL?! I love me some black and white photography but this wedding day can’t be contained with monochrome. Jackie’s thought was, “I can’t possibly narrow it down to one or two colors.”
Jackie and Geoff’s sunny, rainbow-tastic wedding has some of the most exuberant details I’ve ever seen. And on top of that, Jackie handmade it all! It was a personal wedding that was perfectly them.
Their life and home has been consumed with different colored pieces of felt for a while. She created over 300 flowers and that was just the beginning.
Can we stop for a second and take in this fabulous hot pink, bejeweled heels?!
She let the colors of the day play center stage though her column gown with keyhole back and detachable train was pretty awesome.
Jackie and Geoff shared their first look on that sunny day at the Wallingford Community Art Center.
It was a beautiful day to stroll around the whimsical gardens and interesting old mansion.
Geoff had his own flair with bowtie, special boutonniere, and socks.
Yes, there were handmade boutonnieres for each of the 40 guests.
Jackie’s style was gorgeous. She added a sweet birdcage veil and the delicate jacket her late mother made for her own wedding.
The self-uniting Quaker ceremony in the round involved loving advice from everyone in attendance. The first speaker held a large ball of white yarn with tiny color pieces all along it’s 600+ yards length. The ball was tossed from one person to another and across the circle, creating a web surrounding them. I had never seen anything like it.
Instead of a bouquet, Jackie carried a colorful staff (“stick”) that she created for the occasion.
Of course the reception was just as vibrant. Painted vases with handwritten quotes and several felt blooms each adorned the horseshoe-shaped dining table.
Jackie and Geoff led off the party with their first dance to “Pot of Gold” by Robby Hecht.
The guest “book” was a unique sheet of textured, rainbow paper that Jackie has pained white circles on for guests to sign. It was a beautiful keepsake of the day.
It was a lovely evening and they were showered by so much love. Congratulations on everything!
While I’m in the kitchen cooking up a pot pie
You’re just watching with your pretty blue eyes
And the kids are singing our favorite tune
My pot of gold is my life with you
