Montgomery County Wedding Photographer | John James Audubon Center | Laura + Ryan
Wedding
I have started this blog post over about 5 times now because I can’t even form the words to describe this wedding. Stupendous? Magical? Utterly perfect? Take your pick; any of them will work. The sushi-loving, California couple were a delight, the weather was more than anyone could have asked for (a threat of rain turned to 0% precipitation that day), the venue is one of my all-time favorites (John James Audubon Center), and the details, oh the details…! Here is their chilly winter engagement session and here is their wedding!
The peach and teal invitations and stationary suite were gorgeously coordinated throughout the day.
Beautiful Blooms (and I think Laura’s mom was a huge actor in this too) outdid themselves! The many floral pieces and décor accents presented a look that was amazingly cohesive and delicate without ever being too over-the-top. It was just right done just right. You’ll see…
While the guys were at the hotel taking in this very solemn occasion:
The ladies were getting ready at Laura’s family’s house in Blue Bell.
Laura’s white lace over champagne strapless gown was beautiful. She tried on about 7 dresses and knew that this was the one.
Laura arrived in a white Rolls Royce with the man who has been the guy in her life until that day. She left in that same classic car with Ryan that night.
The outdoor ceremony was lovely and very personal. Gidget, Laura’s sister’s French Bulldog helped the sweet flower girls down the aisle, the couple gave memory boxes to each of the parents, they signed their marriage certificate with a custom wax seal, and the ceremony music was courtesy of friends and family of the bride – all marvelous musicians. Laura doesn’t remember a word of the ceremony.
The Audubon Center has a pretty awesome perk for guests during cocktail hour – an owl!
Laura surprised Ryan, an avid surfer, with a custom longboard as a wedding gift – a gift that doubled as a guest book!
We strolled around the grounds for a little while to capture pictures of the newlyweds.
The pavilion couldn’t have been more beautiful. I could devote an entire blog (not just blog post) to the elements that came together that day.
Laura and Ryan were introduced and shared their first dance to “You Belong to Me” by the Duprees as their wedding party swayed on.
As one could imagine from a family of musicians, the reception was a blast. Friends played during the father/daughter dance and nary a tune after 1970 was played that night on that checkerboard floor.
The Lindsay Docherty Photography Oh, snap! Studio was sporting a custom backdrop. It was a hit!
LOVE! This wedding had so much amazing. So much thought and care went into every component to create a blissful day for Laura and Ryan. I am pleased as punch that I was able to be a part of it!
Fly the ocean in a silver plane
Watch the jungle when it’s wet with rain
Just remember till you’re home again
You belong to me
