Moving Forward

Personal

Bad, blogger, bad!

Oh my, so I have a lot of make up work to do. I promise that I have been thinking of you but the last few months have been crazy, to say the least. Here’s a brief rundown of LDP news…

Moved across the country! I am now settled into my new home in Narberth, PA which is right outside of Philadelphia. I grew up around here on the Main Line and am looking forward to getting reconnected with old friends and eating water ice again.

Website update. My site (www.lindsaydocherty.com) now has two sites within: weddings and lifestyle. It was time to expand and build a separate site for weddings. The lifestyle site is still dedicated to the portrait wing of LDP.

ImagingUSA. Every year in January the Professional Photographers of America puts on a big convention and expo. This year it was in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona and hosted the incredible Anne Geddes as the keynote speaker. I went, I learned, I had fun, I met up with old friends and new.

Bridal Shows. I have two wedding fairs coming up in February and I’ve been putting a ton of time into preparing for them. You should definitely come out if you’re in the market for wedding professionals in the Philly area. The first show is tomorrow (February 8th) from noon to 4pm at Perelman Quad on Penn’s campus. The second is on February 22nd at the Willow Grove Mall from 11am to 6pm. There might just be a bonus for couples who book after seeing me at the show! Go here for more information.

Technology. Who can really stay away from Facebook? Not I. Lindsay Docherty Photography now has its own Facebook page and you can (and should!) become a fan asap. There will be a few tidbits that get announced on my Facebook page before they’re out anywhere else so you really don’t want to miss out! I’m also now updating my Twitter account regularly so you can keep tabs on your favorite photographer and her exciting adventures through Twitter. How’s that for keeping you all in the know!

So I know I still have weddings, portrait sessions, and monthly desktop images to catch up on and you’ll be seeing those in the coming weeks. See you soon!

Destination Wedding in Italy | Castello di Vincigliata | MINE!
Many of you have asked about MY wedding.  Well, it was beautiful and amazing and I would never in a million years do it that way again!  Little Miss Type A, professional wedding photographer holding a destination wedding in a country I had never visited, speaking a language I don’t know, on a continent an ocean away…  Yeah, it was stressful but so, so fabulous.  (And I admit it was pretty cool to say I was having a destination wedding in Tuscany, Italy.) Here is my story of the day and some of the snapshots from myself and our 25 guests.  You can see the professional pictures (by the oh-so-talented Alison Conklin Photography team of Alison ...

Sunday Snapshots around Philadelphia
I had a friend in town last weekend and we definitely did the touristy Philly thing. Thankfully he showed up during the window of absolutely great weather and I was able to proudly show off where I grew up, some classic Center City Philadelphia spots, and some of my favorite places in the area. Here are a few images from our day in the city. We started out at the Independence Visitor Center of course and took the Phlash around. I could not get over the incredible clouds that hung out with us all day.We stopped off at the Reading Terminal Market and enjoyed some really delicious vegetable lasagna and took in all the sights, sounds, and smell ...

Every month I feature a new image for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.Wow, I can't believe that I've already been here for 5 months. I still feel like I'm getting used to everything. The weather is still nutty but oh how I love Springtime in Pennsylvania. The past few weeks everything has just opened up. I've been driving all over the Main Line for photo sessions and have seen all this lushness everywhere. Happiness is having the doors and windows open and a light breeze blowing through the house. Add my new flowers (pansies, daffodils) right out my win ...
