Family

If there is ever a question about whether or not you should do a cake smash for your child’s first birthday, the answer is a resounding yes!  But I’ll get to that soon.

First, let me show you some RIDICULOUSLY cute pictures of little one year old Bailey and her fabulous parents, Courtney and Ryan.  We met at Strawbridge Park where I first met Ryan for their engagement session about 3.5 years earlier.

It was pretty neat to be there with them as a family.

Bailey is a doll with such gorgeous eyes and always with a coordinating bow.  Always.

Did I forget to mention that Courtney was 7? 8? Months pregnant with Miles at the time and was running around with us like a total rockstar.  She is the kind of mom I aspire to be: totally positive, energetic, cool headed, and look fabulous doing it.  #jealousymuch?

So then we did a costume change into a tutu (which Courtney made).   I loved these Kate Spade glitter heels when Courtney wore them for her wedding and love them for this little princess.

Ryan is generally a pretty cool as a cucumber guy but his expressions with his little girl are priceless!

But on to the cake smash with a nautical birthday smash cake (which Courtney made).

It was so good Ellsworth got in on the action.  Um, perfection.

Don’t worry about missing this family too much.  You’ll see more when I share wee Miles’ newborn pictures!

Philadelphia Family Photographer | 1 year | Jack
I have been lucky enough to follow this little man through the past year and it has been extraordinary.  Here is Jack at his newborn session: I visited him six months later and saw this: This time we had Mom and Dad around and we took in some morning rays at Spruce Street Harbor Park in Philadelphia for Jack's 1 year session.  The hammocks were a little unsettling. Jack’s eyes are just as blue and vibrant as ever and, looking back from the beginning, it is wild to see him grow up from a tiny little peanut to a little boy (with so many teeth!). As always, he was a delight.  Even through some colds and road trips, ...

Philadelphia Newborn Photographer | Ciaran
Ciaran Quinn is kinda sorta (but not by much) Irish. That doesn’t really matter. What matters is that I got to meet him mere days after he was born. I arrived at Lindsay and Andrew’s home in Philadelphia (I’m not good enough to know neighborhoods – it was a beautiful street kinda sorta near Penn Treaty Park). I was welcomed by the new parents and their first children: Dudley, a 6 year old Schnauzer mix, and Stella, a 5 year old Collie mix. It seemed like only yesterday (2009) that I was photographing the two love birds in their recently engaged excitement in LOVE Park. It was fantastic to see them again all grown up with marriage and puppi ...
