To me, November means cold and crisp. In San Francisco it can mean cold and foggy. Very cold and very foggy. These pictures were taken on the Marin side of the Golden Gate Bridge on a frigid day when the fog was so thick, you could hardly see five feet in front of you. Serious fog.

Enjoy!

I have loved living in the San Francisco Bay Area. It’s not all peaches and plentiful parking but it has been a fabulous place to live and, if the conditions were right, I would stay here forever.

I look forward to moving to Pennsylvania for the new year, but there will always be a soft spot in my heart for this area and all of the wonderful people I’ve met during my stay here.

“There are so many beautiful parts of the world . . . Thailand, Italy, the south of France. There are places in Spain that are astonishing. But here . . . 25 miles and you go up on Mount Tam to see the fog come in; 25 miles the other direction and you’re somewhere else that takes your breath away. There’s no question this is where I want to live. Never has been.”

We bought a house in June. After moving around all my life (28 addresses at last count), I am thrilled to put down roots and have a permanent base (I still plan on as many adventures as possible). This is crazy and exciting and terrifying and amazing all wrapped up in one big, expensive package. We have professionals doing the especially skilled labor (taking down walls, putting up walls, adding a spiral staircase, stuff with electricity, plumbing, gas/oil, and 100 other things). We took on a task that took approximately 5x longer than we originally expected and though it’s nowhere near perfect, we’re pretty proud of ourselves: we painted ...

Granted, it’s cold and miserable out and there was a possibility of snow today but that’s not going to matter. Why? Because it’s opening day. And in this area, baseball is kind of a big deal. Just a little. This day marks the beginning of a season that brings excitement, anticipation, hope, and happy days spent outdoors. (You hear that, mother nature?!)I lucked out and was offered a ticket for the Phillies’ opening day game. What kind of Philadelphia resident would I be to pass up an opportunity like that? (the answer: a warm one.) If you’re in the stadium with me, give me a holler!Every month I feature new images for download for you ...
