You see some people gazing at each other and you can tell that they’re still in the total puppydog phase. You know what I’m talking about – the smittenness that happens in the first few months or year of dating. The thing is, sometimes I see the same adoration in my couples during the engagement session after they’ve known each other for, say, 5.5 years. I saw this with Abby and Ryan.
These two met at a party while they were at school at Drexel University. They played a game of ping pong (which Abby won!) and I suppose it’s been googly eyes ever since.
We did their engagement session at the location of their courtship: Drexel’s campus.
You knew that LOVE Park (JFK Plaza Park) isn’t the only place with this statue, right?
They introduced me to Drexel’s mascot, Mario the Magnificent.
A lot of this session is about the little things – the way Abby gets on her toes just so or how Ryan’s fingertips touch her knee when he kisses her. I love it. Those little things are perfection.
They took me to a great view of the Philly skyline.
Abby is more of a runner out of the two but they both signed up to do the Philly marathon last year. This is a serious undertaking. What made it even more serious was that Ryan knew that he would propose at the finish line. The family held the ring and he got down on one knee when they crossed. If 26.2 miles of sweating it out isn’t togetherness, I don’t know what is.
They’re biking together now and considering a triathalon. Their first date was out ice skating – a smooth move on Ryan’s part since he plays ice hockey. These two do a lot. They recently took a brewery road trip.
Abby showed us to the Biowall, an 80 foot tall living wall inside the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building. I love getting insider access!
Cloudy skies led to a rain immediately after we finished our session.
I am so looking forward to seeing them next June at Morris House Hotel!
Yeah, you got that something
I think you’ll understand
When I say that something
I want to hold your hand
