Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Old City | Kate + Dakota

Engagement

I’m guessing Dakota won’t appreciate this but… Kate and Dakota’s cuteness is out of control!  They are so flipping adorable together.  I was warned that Dakota isn’t great in front of the camera but I think Kate was just trying to keep my expectations super low so that they could blow them out of the water.  Total naturals, these two!

The two dated in eighth grade and he broke her heart (he wanted to hang out with his guys instead of having a girlfriend).

This is a woman who knows what she wants.  Kate continued to pursue him in high school.  She hung around with him and his friends until he asked her out again.  Their first date was out fishing where she caught about twenty fish and he brought in a measly one.

Their wedding is coming up at her family’s estate so we got things together for an engagement session around Old City so I could finally put faces to names.

The two are totally laid back.  Dakota says that this is maybe the second or third time he’s ever seen her in heels.

Dakota and Kate spend as much time in nature as possible.  They go out jet skiing, boating, and hiking when they have free time.

Dakota’s free time is often spent on any number of his vehicles – 2 motorcycles and 5 cars, one that he fixed up with his grandfather that later won Best in Show.

They also have a crazy 4 year old Pit mix who has a bad habit of taking out any creatures that dares set foot on the property but is super lovable with human visitors.

Dakota proposed to Kate at the top of a mountain hike in Tennessee with a beautiful diamond engagement ring.

I have a really good feeling that this wedding is going to be a blast.  I can’t wait!

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | 30th Street Station | Jenny + Casey
You are just going to flip over these pictures from Jenny and Casey’s engagement session at 30th Street Station the other week. The lighting was incredible, they were absolutely adorable and affectionate, and we got ourselves into some great situations. This session was fantastic because it really shows how the location can tie into a couple’s past and make pictures that are that much more special. For a little bit of background, Jenny and Casey met… out… somewhere in Boston. He was hitting on her while she was with some co-workers and Jenny, being the firecracker that she is, made him work for her attention by grilling him on what he did ...

Julie + Chuck: Engagement session at Ocean City, MD
Chuck approached me last year with one of the best inquiries ever. He and Julie were guests at Katie & Seth’s wedding, had been engaged for longer than their parents would like, without a venue or wedding date, and just knew that they wanted awesome pictures. I kind of insisted they get a wedding venue and a date so I could be a part of it.We planned their engagement session at the beach. Though Chuck’s not such a fan of sand, this was something that was particularly important to them since Chuck proposed to Julie on the beach about two years ago. I’m amazed that she was able to take off the ring and keep the proposal a secret for a fe ...

crying proposal at Longwood Gardens
Philadelphia Proposal Photographer | Longwood Gardens | Julius + Clare
Julius and Clare met 9 months to the day of their proposal.  It took one 13 hour first date and they both knew that they had found their one. Julius called me to talk about a plan for photographing his proposal.  We talked and emailed extensively to come up with the perfect plan to surprise Clare.  Since it was February  and Clare isn’t keen on cold weather, we needed something that she would agree to. He considered Morris Arboretum and the Rodin Museum but both were ruled out as being too problematic with rain.  Longwood Gardens was perfect unless she didn’t want to go quite so far away that morning. We had our maps and plans.  We ...
