Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Rittenhouse Square | Aly + Steven
Engagement
He’s Steven. Hi, Steven. She’s the mayor of Philadelphia. Hi, Aly. She knows just about everyone in town. She’s a peppy social butterfly. He is less so though the same can be said for just about anyone.
They recently moved down to Virginia for Steven’s job and she has found that she misses Philly terribly. The simply had to have engagement pictures back here in the city where they met and fell in love.
We began on streets around Rittenhouse Square with their mini goldendoodle, Charlie Brown. He will also answer to “Nugget.”
The shoot was so stinking easy. They’re so great together – laughing, playing, goofing off, and enjoying each other’s company. Not only that but they look good kissing. Not all couples can pull that off.
Steven lived a block from Rittenhouse Square during their courtship and Aly walked through it to and from work so it held a special place in their hearts.
The two met at Smith’s bar celebrating the PhD of a mutual friend. We stopped by to reminisce.
On their first date, she challenged him to a game of HORSE. When they finally got a chance to play a few dates later, she stomped him 3-0.
Steven is known for putting “mystery date” on Aly’s calendar. He planned one such date this past June and took her on a boat ride around the Schuylkill River (note: Aly loves water features). The sky was looking ominous but the boat captain assured them that it wouldn’t be a problem. Things went great… until they didn’t. With 10 minutes left in the ride, the sky opened and buckets came down. It was a monsoon. They couldn’t do anything but laugh about it.
Once they got back home, Steven got Aly in the kitchen and proposed. She thought it might be coming on their upcoming trip to Ireland but Steven wanted it done before the parents met.
I had a fantastic time with them and cannot wait to see what fun we can make next November for their wedding at the Cescaphe Ballroom!
