Family

Pamela contacted me to photograph a lovely combination of events.  In the span of one week, her son, Hudson, was turning 11, graduating elementary school, and receiving a visit from his grandfather from Hong Kong.  She spoke of it as, “celebrating a milestone moment in time.”

And it was.  The original plan was to go totally casual but Hudson had picked out a sharp blue and white striped blazer so they started off looking a little extra special together.

There are big things coming up for the family.  Hudson will be going to sleepaway camp for the first time this summer and, later, going to a Minecraft summer camp.  I honestly never knew there was such a thing.

Meanwhile, Pamela is going on a dreamy yoga retreat/vacation to Iceland with a good friend.

Hudson’s birthday surprise was a trip to Chicago.  Pamela told him about it the day before and the three generations set off to the Windy City and dined at the Michelin-rated Alinea.  Hudson had learned about Alinea on TV a few years ago, had researched it, and hadn’t stopped talking about it since.  What an incredible treat!

They are a jet-setting family.  With visits to grandpa in China every year, they also check out Jackson Hole, Miami, and spent two weeks in Italy last year.

Despite being a tween boy, Hudson is sweetly affectionate with his mom.

Those sparkling blue eyes probably get him out of any trouble too.

I loved spending a few hours with them around Waterworks and the Philadelphia Art Museum.  Happy travels!

Hellooooo cuteness!I encountered an almost illegal amount of adorable last week when I photographed Charlotte (Charlie) last week at Tyler Arboretum. The day started out grey and drizzly and, while it's not ideal weather for a photoshoot, I was looking forward to seeing Charlie in some boots for some fun puddle action. As fate would have it, the sky opened up as soon as I met with Tim and Charlie for some fantastic sunny skies. And since it had just rained, we got some great puddle jumping action! And sometimes you just need to take that tiny path into the sunlight and smell the flowers.Really? Can something be this cute?We were apparently p ...

I love Jennifer and Mark.  I loved them years ago when I met them for their engagement session at Longwood Gardens and again at their Atrium at the Curtis Center wedding soon after.  They live in London (thanks a lot, Mark!) and have a little man that I’ve been dying to see.  Meet 14 month old, Magnus! It finally, finally happened about a month ago when they came back to the states and this sweet, toddling, little peanut came by for a session with Jennifer’s parents who thankfully live over here. Jenifer and Mark joked that this is their city boy’s first interaction with grass. Magnus is new to the walking game but was ...
