Philadelphia Family Photographer | Museum of Art | Hudson & Co.

Family

Pamela contacted me to photograph a lovely combination of events.  In the span of one week, her son, Hudson, was turning 11, graduating elementary school, and receiving a visit from his grandfather from Hong Kong.  She spoke of it as, “celebrating a milestone moment in time.”

And it was.  The original plan was to go totally casual but Hudson had picked out a sharp blue and white striped blazer so they started off looking a little extra special together.

There are big things coming up for the family.  Hudson will be going to sleepaway camp for the first time this summer and, later, going to a Minecraft summer camp.  I honestly never knew there was such a thing.

Meanwhile, Pamela is going on a dreamy yoga retreat/vacation to Iceland with a good friend.

Hudson’s birthday surprise was a trip to Chicago.  Pamela told him about it the day before and the three generations set off to the Windy City and dined at the Michelin-rated Alinea.  Hudson had learned about Alinea on TV a few years ago, had researched it, and hadn’t stopped talking about it since.  What an incredible treat!

They are a jet-setting family.  With visits to grandpa in China every year, they also check out Jackson Hole, Miami, and spent two weeks in Italy last year.

Despite being a tween boy, Hudson is sweetly affectionate with his mom.

Those sparkling blue eyes probably get him out of any trouble too.

I loved spending a few hours with them around Waterworks and the Philadelphia Art Museum.  Happy travels!

In my life before portrait and wedding photography, I was in graduate school for sociology. In undergrad, I didn't know what opportunities there were for sociology majors. I just loved the subject matter and had some incredible professors that I never put much thought into what would happen after graduation. I learned that the main route for sociology majors who are really into sociology is graduate school so you can make more sociologists. This was prefect as I loved being in the classroom and I was pretty good at being a student (graduated magna cum laude and a member of Phi Beta Kappa). My shtick was family and gender roles and social psy ...

I’m 99% sure Nicole is a legit angel.  She has given of herself more than you can imagine and I am forever grateful for her help these last few months since I’ve had Asher.  She has a little one just a few days older, sweet Harper.  We decided to celebrate Harper’s 6 month birthday with a family photoshoot at their home in Royersford. Harper is tiny little peanut of a thing with soft fluffy hair and the loveliest gummy smile you’ve ever seen.  She’s a totally happy baby and in enamored of her big sister, Madison. Maddie is almost 2.5 and completely fiery.  Both girls share daddy’s clear blue eyes.  They are gorgeous and light ...

Main Line Family Photographer | Merion Park | Baby Orson
After taking 10 and a half months to make an appearance, baby Orson showed up to some very joyous (and exhausted) parents, Signe and Trevor. Signe and Trevor are the stylishly awesome couple who did a steampunk after session with me last year. He is named for Orson Welles and Orson Scott Card and his parents really dig the fact that the name originated from ‘son of the bear’.At just 9 days old, I got to hang out with “Little O” for a family photography session with mama and papa bear and Signe’s parents at Merion Park. It’s pretty awesome to feel the energy surrounding a newborn.I love these faces! It was so lovely to have Signe’s parents wit ...
