Philadelphia Newborn Photographer | Jack

Family

It is always pretty great spending a few hours with a newborn.  The parents are seeing stars, both from the overwhelming “whoa” of now having this little creature that is all theirs and the mind-numbing lack of sleep.

Jeff and Vanessa brought me little Jack.  At just 8 days old, he was completely attentive to his mommy.  He even cracked a smile or two for us.

With time, we got ourselves a sweet, sleepy baby who just curled up for us.

His teeny baby details were beyond adorable.

Vanessa and Jeff will eventually leave the Northeast for homebase back in Texas.  Until then, you can expect to see this sweet face a few more times as he eventually gets too big to fit entirely in daddy’s arms.

They debated for a while over names and finally decided on Collins Lillian, Collins being Colleen’s maiden name and Lillian for the feminine first name that her mother was given but never used.I eagerly met Collins about 11 days after she was born and spent a few hours with her.  I love that this is the same home in Bryn Mawr where I photographed the Colleen and Karl's engagement session and Colleen's maternity session. There were times that the session got a bit overwhelm ...

Philadelphia Maternity Photographer | Sheila
While my job ranks waaay up there for best in the world, there might be one or two that beat it.  I can only imagine the magic that comes from being a midwife like Sheila.  The relationships made and the end result, a larger family, must be incredible to witness. I photographed Sheila and Sanjay’s engagement session and weddings (yes, plural) a few years back and I was overjoyed to hear that they were expecting a little “Shejay” this spring.  It was fabulous reconnecting with them and peppering her with questions about what it’s like to be on this side of the belly. We shot their maternity session at their home in Queen Village, ...
