This was the first time I had shot a wedding at the College of Physicians in Philadelphia (home to The Mütter Museum) and it was absolutely wonderful. As I had seen from their engagement session (with their pugs!), I knew that I could expect these two to take the day in stride.
Britt’s getup was beautiful. I adored the cobalt blue peep-toe heels she wore under her dress and the cathedral length veil.
I know she looks like a model (her hair stayed perfectly coiffed the entire day), Britt is anything but a princess. Even with her curvy figure, glass blue eyes, and porcelain skin, it’s simply not her.
Britt and Paul shared an official, dressed first look in Ashhurst Hall before we spent a little time roaming around the incredible venue.
Everything looked so great together with a theme of “green, green, green.” The long, emerald chiffon bridesmaids dresses made the white bouquets pop and I loooooved what they did with the space.
It was integral that Franklin and George be a part of the day (with thanks to the “Custodian of the Hounds” for taking care of them).
White pillar candles in front of the fireplace with a stunning birch and Terrain-inspired look of ferns, mosses, and white blooms. Shepherd’s hooks holding lanterns full of greenery lined the aisles.
A group of high school musicians from Britt’s mother’s school played during the ceremony.
Though there was a torrential downpour earlier in the day, the cocktail hour was outside in the lovely garden with more mingling inside Hutchinson Parlor.
The room was set for the reception with so many great touches. High and low tables were spread across the room in rounds and rectangles. Table linens alternated in green and white. Centerpieces were loosely arranged grey-potted succulents, herbs, ferns, and mosses mixed with candles, hurricane lamps, and vintage books. Totally gorgeous in the room with wooden features and such tall ceilings.
The reception was so much fun! This was a crowd that knows how to party. The dancefloor was packed with the exception of the few moments of speeches and parent dances.
Hats off especially to the best man and Britt’s brother, Tom, for his great speech and even greater dance moves. All. Night. Long.
I never claimed to be the most mature chick around…
The day was fantastic and Britt and Paul managed to make everything look effortless and fun.
And all I have to do is think of her
Something in the things she shows me
Don’t want to leave her now
You know I believe and how
