Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Morris Arboretum | Kate + Kevin

Wedding

Kate and Kevin’s wedding day was one of those run-of-the-mill days in which the bridal party surprises the couple with a flashmob dance during the reception. You know, the usual…

That should give you an indication of how Kate and Kevin’s day went down. It was filled with emotions, beautiful details, heartfelt flourishes, and an arboretum full of fun. This was no surprise to me. I’ve known Kate for a long while and their engagement session at the Art Museum was an indicator of the sweetness and spunkiness that was in store.

Kate wore two sets of wedding shoes – a pair of blue velvet flats with white lace detailing on the back and these awesome Toms with 1 Corinthians inscribed on them. Too cute!

The guys couldn’t get out of the hotel fast enough. There were oodles of them jammed into the hotel room. (10 groomsmen +several wee ones.) The Catholic ceremony was held at Our Mother of Consolation Church in Chestnut Hill.

Kate’s mom made the ring bearer’s pillow with material from her wedding dress.

Kate is… a character.

We got to the idyllic Morris Arboretum with just a little bit of time before sunset and quickly grabbed family formals so that I could have time with the newlyweds.

See those pretty pink flowers?  Also a labor of love by Kate’s mom!  Kate’s great grandmother’s handkerchief was tied around the stems.

The day and colors were perfect!

The wedding party was (creatively) introduced.

Kate and Kevin danced their first dance to “Marry Me” by Train.

Then there were the speeches – warmth, laughter, tears, you know the drill… And then the music came on. Starting with Kate’s brother, Dan, and eventually adding the entire bridal party + family and relatives, a huge dancing flashmob was performing in front of Kate and Kevin.

Dan & Co. had somehow arranged this massive choreographed number. It was amazing!

The night continued with a photo slideshow of Kate and Kevin growing up, a photo wall with wedding pictures of friends and relatives, a cupcake “wedding cake”, and dancing. A LOT of dancing. There are so many wonderful images from this wedding that I could fill 4 posts worth!

This was the first time since his wedding that Kate’s father wore a suit. (And he wore it well!)

There were so many good things about their day and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it all! Congratulations, you two!

Deb + Peter: 10 Year Wedding Anniversary in Woodside
Wow.Wow, wow, WOW!You should have been at Deb & Peter's 10 year anniversary party last month! Held at their house in Woodside and put on by the talented Maxine Andrew of Instead of You.The place looked absolutely stunning in vibrant pinks and yellow. There was plenty of entertainment and eye candy that evening, starting off with "Bubble Ladies" who did gymnastics inside big plastic bubbles as they floated over the pool in the back yard. And the evening was catered by the talented Paula le Duc. There was a fritto misto bar with calamari, shrimp, fennel, and broccoli and lemon and plenty of passed hors d'oeuvres. The dinner was a buffet of ...

Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Philadelphia City Hall | Erin + Mike
Erin and Mike are all about making social media work for them. It was through Twitter that she arranged for Mayor Michael Nutter to officiate her wedding ceremony. It’s amazing what can be done through 140 characters. She and I have been emailing back and forth for over a year and a half about her wedding at Philadelphia City Hall. I had been on the edge of my seat to meet her and her groom and this wedding did not disappoint. Their ceremony was held in the Mayor’s Reception room – an incredible space with carved mahogany, fine curtains and draperies, a gold and ivory ceiling, an enormous gold plated chandelier, an exquisite fireplace, a ...

Bucks County Wedding Photographer | Aldie Mansion | Meredith + Dwayne
We could not have asked for a more gorgeous day for Meredith and Dwayne’s wedding. It was perfection. No humidity, not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was just right. The entire day felt good. I fell in love with Meredith and Dwayne that day. Meredith’s jubilance was absolutely infectious. She’s a hardworking, type-A principal at a local Philly school but, on her wedding day, she was all smiles and lightness. I (along with the bridesmaids) admit that her gown was a surprise. It was a fabulous frock but it didn’t seem quite right for our bride. Until she tried it on. At that point, there is no way she could have wo ...
