Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Philadelphia City Hall | Anna + Nick

Wedding

I was so honored to be able to photograph Anna and Nick’s wedding a few weeks ago at Philadelphia City Hall. The short, intimate ceremony started a bit late but was nonetheless beautiful and surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Anna and Nick have been together since high school (over 11 years) and have finally decided to tie the knot. He proposed on his birthday (Mother’s Day coincidentally) as they were out camping. Anna tells it as he had many opportunities with great, romantic views but he popped the question by a porta potty. I kinda think that makes for a far better story.

Anna contacted me and knew that there was one picture that she absolutely wanted – the one in the incredible stairwells of City Hall.

I couldn’t help but capture a few more while we were there. She looked incredible in that long, flowing gown.

Back in the waiting room, we laughed and patiently anticipated the ceremony.

We went outside for some classic Philly shots. She didn’t want LOVE Park but you just can’t resist the beauty of Broad Street. (Hint: spot the pooch.)

We looped around back to City Hall for some more of just the two of them.

They were just wonderful and I can’t wait to hear all about the next exciting thing from this family: the arrival of little Nicholas due this Christmas (Nicholas’ mother’s birthday). So many congratulations, you two!

Will I travel for weddings?  Hell yes I will.  Especially if it’s the wedding of two incredible people like Elise and Eddie.  They were married at Chatham Bars Inn, a beautiful beachfront resort in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  This was a pretty big deal.  I’ve known Eddie for years and he is a Philly boy at heart.  I photographed his sister’s wedding at the Ritz Carlton – Philadelphia just a couple of years ago.  Elise’s heart resides in Cape Cod and she has always known that it had to be the Cape.  Her family has vacationed in the area since the 60s and she couldn’t imagine saying “I do” anywhere else. The weather that week was all over the pl ...

Sometimes your photographer says, "stop being cold and trust me! This lighting is making me squeal with happiness."  Elise and Eddie's Jewish/Catholic fusion, patty-caking, veil-blowing, rocking out, destination wedding at Chatham Bars Inn in Cape Cod this weekend was drool-worthy (even if mittens would have been nice).

If I were planning my wedding all over again, it would look a lot like Jean and Brian’s.  It was incredibly similar in so many ways which made it all the more special since it was one of the very last I photographed before I said my own vows.  Their wedding had an intimate, family-centric guest list.  It was held on the summer solstice and pulled in a lot of natural and earthy elements.  There were a lot of whites and greens everywhere for a beautiful yet not shmancy feel.  It was great to have Rebecca of Rebecca Richman Events on board to keep the day running perfectly. Jean didn’t realize how important her dress was to her until she went ...
