Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Philadelphia City Hall | Elizabeth + Matthew
Wedding
It is truly my pleasure to introduce you to Elizabeth and Matthew. They are one of the sweetest, kindest, most loving couples I’ve ever met. Matthew is absolutely smitten with Elizabeth and it showed in every conversation I had with him leading up to the wedding day. Seeing them together was even better. They ooze love and it’s fabulous being around it. They both have huge hearts, fostering and being parents to 7 cats and 3 dogs (who knows, they may have even more by now!).
They met at work. Matthew was Elizabeth’s supervisor. They consider their first date to be the holiday party where they talked all night with their legs touching under the table, exactly 6 years to the day before their wedding.
Their wedding was held on a cold and rainy Tuesday at Philadelphia City Hall. I met them outside the courtroom and was able to snap a few pictures before the ceremony.
We found an open door leading to a beautiful room. If I’ve photographed you, you know that I’ll go by the motto, “better to ask forgiveness than permission” and what harm is it to take a few shots in a beautiful room?
We scooted out of there and checked out the stairwells. I absolutely love the stairwells at City Hall.
We gathered back in the courtroom as we waited to be called in. Their family and friends filled out the jury box quite nicely.
We were the first ones to go for the quick ceremony in the back library. When asked if Matthew will take Elizabeth to be his wife, he replied with an enthusiastic, “I absolutely will!”. Their vows ended in an awesome dip and kiss. Priceless!
Elizabeth and Matthew left City Hall to a lavender toss and we grabbed a few formals before sending their guests on their way to get ready for dinner at Amada.
It was a pretty dismal day weather-wise but it didn’t really matter. Matthew, quite the gentleman, held the umbrella over his new bride as we made our way for the classic Broad Street shot. I actually love the way it all looks with the street and car lights reflecting off the wet ground. Are they great at these dips or what?!
We took advantage of some of the inner architecture (and cover) of City Hall.
A few last shots at Love Park before they went on their way.
They contemplated a larger wedding but soon decided against it. They wanted something in the fall and they have a love session coming up so this isn’t the last you’ll see of these two lovebirds. I’m so honored that I was able to be there for their wedding. It was great getting to know you and I can’t wait for our session! Congratulations on your new (legitimate ;)) family!
