Erin and Mike are all about making social media work for them. It was through Twitter that she arranged for Mayor Michael Nutter to officiate her wedding ceremony. It’s amazing what can be done through 140 characters. She and I have been emailing back and forth for over a year and a half about her wedding at Philadelphia City Hall. I had been on the edge of my seat to meet her and her groom and this wedding did not disappoint.
Their ceremony was held in the Mayor’s Reception room – an incredible space with carved mahogany, fine curtains and draperies, a gold and ivory ceiling, an enormous gold plated chandelier, an exquisite fireplace, and paintings of former mayors on all walls.
Onwards to outside formals. Sometimes randoms happen.
And then we went back inside City Hall to take advantage of some of my favorite light in the city.
Erin and Mike met several years ago at a party when she was in town visiting a friend. She had actually picked him out from a YouTube video beforehand but this is all a story for another day. What matters is that he asked her to marry him (a day early actually) and she said yes. They had come back from dinner and it just felt right.
We went to some classic spots for Broad Street and LOVE Park shots.
It was such a fantastic day and Erin and Mike were every bit and incredible as I had hoped. Congratulations, you two. See you around the internets.
