Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Philadelphia City Hall | Erin + Mike

Wedding

Erin and Mike are all about making social media work for them. It was through Twitter that she arranged for Mayor Michael Nutter to officiate her wedding ceremony. It’s amazing what can be done through 140 characters. She and I have been emailing back and forth for over a year and a half about her wedding at Philadelphia City Hall. I had been on the edge of my seat to meet her and her groom and this wedding did not disappoint.

Their ceremony was held in the Mayor’s Reception room – an incredible space with carved mahogany, fine curtains and draperies, a gold and ivory ceiling, an enormous gold plated chandelier, an exquisite fireplace, and paintings of former mayors on all walls.

And then we went back inside City Hall to take advantage of some of my favorite light in the city.

Erin and Mike met several years ago at a party when she was in town visiting a friend. She had actually picked him out from a YouTube video beforehand but this is all a story for another day. What matters is that he asked her to marry him (a day early actually) and she said yes. They had come back from dinner and it just felt right.

We went to some classic spots for Broad Street and LOVE Park shots.

It was such a fantastic day and Erin and Mike were every bit and incredible as I had hoped. Congratulations, you two. See you around the internets.

Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Bartram’s Garden | Mika + Joe
I have met many low key, laid back brides but none of them hold a candle to Mika. She and Joe were married at Philadelphia's Bartram’s Garden with 10 of their closest family members in attendance. The oil lamp at their ceremony table was the same one her parent’s had at their wedding.Just a few highlights about Mika:She ordered her dress online and hoped for the best. It arrived a few days before the wedding. It was too long so she took scissors to the bottom of it the night before the wedding. Bonus fact: she wore her mom’s petticoat slip since the dress was a bit too sheer. The morning of the wedding she went to the salon and asked f ...

Anna + Bill: Wedding in Calistoga at the private Black Swan Lake
Oh. My. God. You should have seen Anna and Bill's wedding - it was absolutely stunning! I went up to Northern CA with Lisa of Lisa Leigh Photography to be the second shooter at one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen. This is the stuff for magazines. As I've said before, I try to take advantage of as many shooting opportunities as possible and I'm glad I went along with Lisa for this one.First of all, all eight (yes, eight) bridesmaids were beautiful. They wore flowy Vera Wang dresses in a light celadon (minty-green) with a bubble hem tied at the waist with a black velvet sash. The bride wore a strapless off-white gown with ...

Bucks County Wedding Photographer | Private Estate | Alison + Reuven
2014 was a year of some of the most incredible weddings of my career. Of course mine was my absolute favorite. Hovering near the top was Alison and Reuven’s. Close your eyes and think of all of the elements you would want at a wedding – easy laughter between guests, family camaraderie, dancing so hard you’re sweating, genuinely smiling so much your cheeks hurt, savoring a delicious meal, feeling the sunshine on a day with perfect weather, personal and beautiful flourishes created especially for such a day, and love, oh, the love of a couple being able to refer to “my husband” and “my wife” for the very first time. That was Alison and Reuve ...
