You’ve been waiting for this Philadelphia City Hall wedding for a while now. And with good reason. It was awesome. Occupy Philadelphia outside. Freaking adorable pooch. Bride in hot pink dress. Yes, yes, and YES! If you’ve snooped around here for a while you know that I love City Hall weddings. Small and intimate guest lists paired with a couple’s own personal style is why they’re so incredible.
Meet Kate and Yong. They were engaged in February. Come September they decided that the madness of planning a wedding was not for them and gave me a call for their November nuptials. Kate had tried on white wedding dresses and none of them were right. She wanted something short that didn’t require alterations and came across this fabulous pink bridesmaid dress. I love the pairing with the grey cardigan and kitten heel shoes.
The ceremony was the shortest I had ever seen, even for City Hall. It was maybe 5 minutes but it was sweet and perfect.
After the ceremony we ran to take some quick pictures of the newlyweds on Broad Street…
Kate and Yong actually wondered if we should skip the shots outside of City Hall due to the Occupiers and sea of tents. Um, no way! That’s a piece of history built right into their wedding day. You have to include it!
And then on to Love Park. Somehow we got glorious, unseasonably warm weather. That pink strappy cocktail length dress and grey cardigan were all Kate needed.
Then we met up with family, friends, and 8 month old Ralphie on the roofdeck of Kate and Yong’s apartment. The views on the top of the Metropolitan were incredible. How spectacular to be able to have this right upstairs!
We ended our time together at “Ralphie’s Park” right down the street. I love those gnarled trees.
Kate and Yong, thanks so much for letting me be a part of your celebration. It was perfection!
The highest happiness on earth is marriage.
