Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Racquet Club of Philadelphia | Kelly + Christian
Wedding
Kelly and Christian’s wedding got me through the winter. I knew their Philadelphia March wedding was likely to be cold but I was certain that it would be stunning after meeting them for their NJ engagement session last fall. I was not disappointed.
A late change had the bridesmaids getting ready at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia to take advantage of the lovely rooms and location.
One of my favorite details from the day was Christian’s wedding day note to Kelly. He had secretly hired their calligrapher to handwrite the letter. It was one of the most romantic and (surprisingly) original ideas I have seen for the wedding gifts. He also presented her with a beautiful pearl bracelet with antique latch. What a keeper!
The men, in their dapper black tuxes and bowties, got ready at Christian’s parents’ snow-covered property in West Chester.
Kelly was gorgeous beyond words. I can’t even find the right adjectives to describe how beautiful she looked. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
The veil was her something borrowed, belonging to her bridesmaid, Kelly.
Jaws dropped whenever Kelly entered a room!
The Catholic ceremony was held at St. John the Evangelist Church. It fit them just right.
The priest went into great detail on the courtship, romance, idiosyncrasies, and love that has gone into their relationship these last few years since that fateful New Year’s Eve.
We huddled up (note the luxe white fur, shawl!) and made our way to Old City and Elfreth’s Alley for some romantic pictures post ceremony.
We made our way back to the Racquet Club of Philadelphia in time to warm up before the real festivities began! All 240 guests gathered on the marble floor of grand lobby to watch as the newlyweds shared their first dance to “Crazy Love” by Van Morrison.
Toasts and more toasts before the scrumptious Jeffrey A. Miller Catering dinner in the blue dining room.
And then the dancing. So much dancing. The St. Vincent James Band blew everyone away. “Timber” and Pharrell’s “Happy” were crowd (and bride) favorites of the night.
What an incredible day. I’m sure St. Lucia was a happy retreat from the Philadelphia chill but Kelly and Christian put on a wedding that I wished would never end!
I can hear her heart beat for a thousand miles
And the heavens open every time she smiles
And when I come to her that’s where I belong
Yet I’m running to her like a river’s song
