It feels like that time of year when changes are about to happen, but not quite yet. It’s like the calm before the storm. Summer vacation is ending and school is starting soon. We’re going to begin seeing those vibrant color changes in nature. Our wardrobe is going to go through that teenage state of dealing with hot days and cool nights after dusk. But right now we can still bask in calmness, in serenity. So I’ve picked some images that make me think “serenity”.

Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

“Boredom is the feeling that everything is a waste of time; serenity, that nothing is.”

I can't say that the weather was particularly optimal on that day either. We met at Baker Beach in the evening and it was sooo windy! I had never seen it so blustery! I was kind of bummed because we had planned to do a trash-the-dress but there was no way that was happening. We started off at Battery Chamberlain to help shield us from the gusts. I love shooting back there with the grungy, chipped-paint feel of things. It's a very cool spot. It also has some great lines and s ...

Imaging USA recap
I got back from beautiful and sunny 70 degree Tampa last week. I was glad to come back home after being away for three weeks though I have to admit that I wanted to get right back on that plane once I saw San Francisco and it's cold, rainy mess. I was in Florida for Imaging USA, one of the industry's biggest conventions. It was an absolute blast (except for the 7am seminars! Bleh!). As promised, I worked on my picture-a-day commitment while I was there.I roomed with Julie of Julie Cheshire Photography and made friends with another photographer, Jennifer Witz, who photographs portraits in the Bellevue, WA area. Being that the convention w ...
