I‘m not going to comment on what it might mean that we were all still around on the day of Rapture but I am so thankful for that! Alexis and Nick were incredible and their guests knew how to throw it down! It rained the entire week leading up to the wedding day but we lucked out with bright blue skies and a few puffy little clouds. It was the perfect day for a beach wedding in Cape May and I’m so honored I got to photograph it. You might remember them from their fallsy engagement session with their adorable dog, Melody.
The ladies were listening to Sinatra while getting ready. Alexis is such an old spirit at heart. She wore her great grandmother’s engagement ring and pinned her great grandfather’s tie clip to her bouquet.
Totally digging the feathered birdcage veil and her halter top gown.
And I just about lost it when I saw her faaaaaaantastic Betsey Johnson purple pumps.
The wedding was held down on the sand. Nick and his men waited patiently for Alexis to walk down that aisle with her father.
The Royal Wedding was just a few weeks prior and I was absolutely loving that we saw a few hats…
I got to steal away the lovely couple for a few minutes before they entered cocktail hour.
Nick had brought his other baby with him that day…
Alexis’ jewel toned purple wedding vision came to life that day at the Grand Hotel of Cape May, including a fabulous purple, beachy wedding cake by Ann’s Cake Pan. If you look closely, you’ll see a little Westie at their feet – a shout out to Melody, the baby that Alexis had to leave at home.
The newlyweds entered the ballroom and shared their first dance as husband and wife to “Just Breathe” by Pearl Jam.
A few heartfelt and funny toasts by Alexis’ friend and cousin, Michele, and Nick’s best man, Frank.
And then a reprise of Nick’s serenade of Alexis that apparently had the crowd in pieces just a week or so before.
I was able to steal them one more time for some pictures in the luscious light out on the deck of the hotel during sunset.
And, seriously, Alexis… You are just stunning!
The party was nuts. So many laughs. It was just a group that blended so well together for a hopping good time. Exactly the way a reception should be.
And I’ll be honest, I’ve never seen a lap dance leading up to the garter toss but I was supremely impressed by Nick’s skills and Alexis’ blushing. Hilarious!
What an incredible day. Thank you two for inviting me along for the ride. I can’t wait to hear some details from your honeymoon in Italy!
I wonder everyday
As I look upon your face
Everything you gave
And nothing you would take
Nothing you would take
Everything you gave
