Beverly + Charles: An Engagement Session around Rittenhouse Square

Engagement

Beverly, Charles, Emma and I met up the other week for a great engagement session around Rittenhouse Square. Let me give you a bit of back story: Bev was good friends with Chuck’s sister. They’ve known each other for ages. They even went to the same college (Villanova) and dated a bit while they were there. They parted ways and Chuck went off to med school in Virginia. He came back to the area, the two reconnected, and guess what… They’re getting hitched next May at the Radisson Warwick in Philly.

The four of us started off in Rittenhouse Square. Emma is a gorgeous two year old Golden Retriever with a lovely coat and an affinity for squirrels (sadly, I’m not a squirrel). I absolutely love the shots we got of this little family while at the park.

(As a side note, I adore the hand on face “you’re all mine, baby” kiss!)

Bev’s sister came by to escort Emma home and we continued on.

We wandered over to Broad Street for one of the quintessential Philadelphia pictures.

Our next stop was the Ritz Carlton, a particularly important place to them. Back in February Chuck took Bev out for a surprise dinner at the Ritz. They needed a night out from studying and such. The dinner went well and they started walking back home (one, maybe two blocks – it’s debateable). Chuck turned to Bev and asked if she wanted another surprise… He took her back to the Ritz and up to a room that he had decorated earlier that day and got down on one knee where he asked her to marry him.

We rounded out our e-session on a little side street with fabulous brick buildings.

It was such a fantastic time. I can’t wait to see them next spring!

For you see, each day I love you more Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.

Engagement Session at Baker Beach
I spent Thursday evening with a really fabulous couple: Gillian & Blake. I've known Gillian for a little while now. She's also in the wedding industry and is an incredibly talented florist. She serves the entire bay area so I very strongly recommend you check out her stuff at www.gillianmarieevents.com. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it.So onto the shoot… We met at this great grove of trees in the Presidio. Traffic was particularly hairy so we got a late start but the pictures were fantastic nonetheless. I mean, can you really take a bad picture of a couple this cute? Gillian has this bright, easy smile that just lights up her ...

Philadelphia Proposal Photographer | Old City | Ashley + John
It was Ashley and John’s first time in Philadelphia.  They have a history of going to baseball games in different stadiums so they had picked a Phillies game for John’s birthday trip. John and I had been planning this for some time.  We had changed the date a bit when other events came up on Ashley’s calendar and we wanted to avoid suspicion. The temperatures were around 100 that day but Ashley and John arrived at Race Street Pier as expected.  He and I had gotten into the details of the surprise proposal.  I had drawn a heart at the spot where I wanted him to stop so that the blue Ben Franklin Bridge would be behind them. It ...
