Engagement

It is not common that I meet my couple for their engagement session the day before their wedding.  Sometimes that’s just the way it works out, especially when the couple is out in sunny California dealing with moves and opening a coffee shop and planning a wedding.

Regardless, I was so happy that they were able to carve out a little time for us to just play before their rehearsal dinner and big wedding festivities.  Since they were getting married and staying at Holly Hedge Estate, it made sense that we do the mini session in New Hope.

It was a very chilly day.  Mike would have preferred about another 30 degrees but you could see that he had fallen hard for his fair Ali and would go along.

The two met about four years ago.  He was bartending at a restaurant where she used to work and she had come in to revisit the place.  He made her a her own whiskey drink and she stayed talking to him for the next six hours.  When his shift ended, she asked if he wanted to go get a drink somewhere.  He declined, saying that he wanted them to have a better story.  He arranged a rooftop picnic for her the next week.

Mike got a job offer in LA and only had a hot second to relocate.  On the plane on the way to California, he popped the question with a magnificent blue topaz (his birthstone) and diamonds from her mother’s engagement ring.

The two have really been spending most of 2016 planning for the opening of their coffee shop mere weeks after their wedding.  (Um, that’s insane!)

Now that my blog is fully functional again (so sorry for the break!), you’ll see their Holly Hedge Estate wedding pictures lickity split!

Say you’ll love me every waking moment
Turn my head with talk of summer time
Say you need me with you now and always
Promise me that all you say is true
That’s all I ask of you

Beverly, Charles, Emma and I met up the other week for a great engagement session around Rittenhouse Square. Let me give you a bit of back story: Bev was good friends with Chuck's sister. They've known each other for ages. They even went to the same college (Villanova) and dated a bit while they were there. They parted ways and Chuck went off to med school in Virginia. He came back to the area, the two reconnected, and guess what… They're getting hitched next May at the Radisson Warwick in Philly. The four of us started off in Rittenhouse Square. Emma is a gorgeous two year old Golden Retriever with a lovely coat and an affinity for squ ...

Jen and Jeremy make my heart flutter. They have the trifecta: warm, wonderful personalities, great looks, and a ridiculous dog.The two met while attending Villanova University on a Habitat for Humanity group trip to Taos, New Mexico. It was one heck of a “first date” and they ended up in adjoining sleeping bags on the Baptist church floor by the end of the trip. They now live in Center City with their 3 year old chocolate lab, Bailey. We met close to their place on a chilly day just in time for some fantastic local color!Oh-so-fashionable! They are both quite athletic too – taking trips to maximize skiing, hiking, bike riding… She may be ...
