I had been looking forward to Moira and Brett’s wedding for a loooong time. Their Fairmount engagement session cemented my excitement. I knew then that they were this beautiful couple who moved with one another, laughed, and played. Their wedding at Holly Hedge Estate in New Hope, PA was superb. The setting was beyond picturesque with old, stone buildings, a brick courtyard, chocolate brown with shocks of fiery orange, a stunning lace wedding dress, and a night that could have gone on forever. Before I get ahead of myself, get a load of the images from the day.
Moira wore her engagement ring and her mother’s ring – a blue and sapphire ring that her father gave her mother as an anniversary gift that symbolized them and their three children.
Moira and Brett exchanged gifts and cards before the ceremony. She gave him an incredible Bulova watch (and wedding Lego set!) and he gave her a delicate pearl bracelet.
Fabulous stone and windows in the old barn. I love this image of Kara helping Moira fix her dress.
The crew at Papertini really outdid themselves with the incredible florals, the masterpiece being the fountain topper that exploded with roses, lilies, hydrangea, mosses, spider mums, snapdragons, ferns, queen anne’s lace, waxflower, amaranth, and so many more.
The bouquets used calla lilies, lots of orange orchids, hypericum berries, and even some tulips.
The ceremony in the courtyard was perfect. The sun came and went through the service and it was glorious. There was the threat of rain earlier in the week but there wasn’t a single drop the day of the wedding. A string quartet played in the background.
I love that Brett rubbed the top of Moira’s hand with his thumb through the ceremony. It’s the little things.
In a move similar to herding cats, we rounded up the groups for the formals before we lost the sun. The bridal party was left until the end. Goofballs.
I stole a few minutes with just Moira and Brett.
Please note the awesome argyle socks and colorful ties that all of the groomsmen wore!
The placecard display leading into the reception was a work of art. The wooden card holders were a true DIY labor of love and they looked spectacular curving all around the woodsy centerpiece.
Moira and Brett were announced to Coldplay’s “Til Kingdom Come” (also the inscription on Brett’s wedding watch).
The party was bordering on raucous. I’ve never before seen spin the bottle on a dancefloor or such a showdown during the anniversary dance.
The Oh, snap! Studio was a massive hit!
We snuck off for a few minutes late at night for the very cool paper lantern release in the moonlight.
It was such a beautiful wedding – everything that I hoped it would be and more! Moira and Brett, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your celebration!
Hold my head inside your hands
I need someone who understands
I need someone, someone who hears
For you, I’ve waited all these years
