Chester County Wedding Photographer | People’s Light & Theater | Emily + Leonardo

Wedding

I’m pretty sure that I could photograph Emily and Leonardo’s wedding every weekend and still never get tired of them or their spectacular day. It was happy, truly and utterly blissful. Throughout the day Emily’s refrain was, “I’m so happy. So, so happy”. I don’t think that they can be near each other without breaking into dance and, really, what is better than that?

I started shooting at Emily’s mom’s house in Wayne, PA. I honestly imagined Emily in something very simple but her lace gown was just perfect for her. It was light and fit her like a glove and she looked completely stunning.

Her something old was her great aunt’s diamond bracelet that was given as a gift from her jockey husband. Blue shoes peeped out from under her dress and her mother’s pearl earrings and necklace were her something borrowed.

Of course Nellie (who played a star role in their Art Museum engagement session) had to make an appearance on the wedding day.

The wedding ceremony and reception were held at the Farmhouse at People’s Light and Theater in Malvern, PA. The day was beautiful. They included friends and family in all aspects – the officiant was Emily’s friend from school, the ceremony musicians were Leonardo’s friends from high school, Leonardo’s best man was Emily’s brother, and Emily’s maids were Leonardo’s two sisters.

They half walked, half danced down the aisle to a recessional of “Home”.

We had the perfect time of day for the pictures of the two of them just as the sun was setting. We made use of a few nooks and crannies around the property.

Emily and Leonardo shared their first dance to “Dance Me to the End of Love” by Madeline Peyroux.

Toasts introduced just about everyone in the room and talked about the couples’ immense/intense love for gardening and how they seem to throw just as much dedication into their jobs and relationship with one another.

The rest of the night was a blur of dancing (duh) and laughter.

Emily and Leonardo, thank you so much for including me in your day! It was pretty freaking incredible!

Michelle + Alastair: A Casual Wedding in Ithaca, NY
Last month I was in Ithaca, NY for the wedding of Michelle and Alastair (you may remember their engagement session at 30th Street Station). Though they live in San Francisco, and had their engagement session in Philadelphia, their romance began about 15 years ago at Cornell. Years pulled them apart and brought them together again but they finally ended up tying the knot on a rainy day in June among 93 adults, 7 children, and 10 babies. There were vows, a wedding gown, rings, and toasts but this celebration was gloriously low key, just as Michelle and Alastair wanted it. Read on for creative jewelry, little ones everywhere, BBQ, board game ...

Destination Wedding in St. Augustine, Florida
While I'm not yet taking on any weddings from clients on the West Coast, I know Kristen and Tom from my time in North Carolina. This wonderfully kind couple were engaged last summer, after being together for seven years. They had a casual beach wedding with smiles all around. Despite threats of storms, there wasn't a drop of rain and the sun was out all day. Here are a few of my favorite images from the wedding day...His and her rings. They had the wedding at an adorable bed and breakfast. Kristen had the back cottage all to herself for getting ready. She was totally stunning. And this was before all the makeup! The flower girl was not keen ...

Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Commodore Barry Club | Cassie + Paulo
Cassie is spunky; Paulo is reserved. Cassie has a constant grin across her face; Paulo shares sly smiles if you’re paying attention. Together they’re fantastic. Remember their soccer/futebol engagement session around the Art Museum? They were married a few weeks ago and I had the honor of being there to photograph it.I started at Cassie’s parents’ house in Lafayette Hill. The house was all aflutter with friends, family, and ten bridesmaids.Cassie’s something old was her great grandmother’s necklace (borrowed was her sister, Rosie’s, veil, blue was her brother in law’s handkerchief). The bracelet she wore that day was a wedding pres ...
