I have been looking forward to Jackie and Chang’s wedding day since I first met the two at her sister’s, Katie’s, wedding a few years ago. It was heaven to my ears to hear that I would be reuniting with this amazing family once more. You’ve already seen Jackie and Chang on the blog – their engagement session at Longwood Gardens was so good that they won the LDP Best of 2012 for engagement pictures!
They did something right because they had the. most. gorgeous day of the year for their wedding. It was 70 and sunny and the colors couldn’t have been more powerful – fantastic oranges, reds, and yellows everywhere!
The ever-fashionable Jackie pieced together the beautiful lace dress she wore for the big day. She knew that the basic style was right but she came up with the design for the keyhole back.
I am such a sucker for cathedral length veils!
This is just two doors down from where her parents live in Middletown, DE. How lucky!
I could not get enough of the flowers! I have never seen fall bouquets so beautiful and creative – protea, feathers, freesia, lilies, seeded eucalyptus…
Just like Jackie’s sister, parents, and grandparents, she and Chang were married at Immanuel Episcopal Church in New Castle, Delaware.
Does it still count if the minister refers to the couple as ‘Emily and Matthew’?!
We crossed the border into Pennsylvania for their reception at Kings Mills in Media, PA.

I don’t really understand when Jackie had the time to create each one of the centerpieces for the room, the cake topper, the masks for the wedding party, signs, favors, and her own makeup! Jackie and Chang live in Florida so for them the entire wedding was “in theory.” They could hardly visualize the wedding since they had only seen the venue once before the previous May. Somehow they pulled it off spectacularly!
The two danced their first dance to “Crazy Love” by Van Morrison.
And then they partied! Tennessee shouting, William & Mary drinking, perfect toasts, Charlie Daniels Band dancing, sparklers, sky lanterns…
Utterly beautiful! I was so thrilled to be a part of it!
