It seems like August was both yesterday and years ago. Are you feeling that way too? So much has happened that I’ve hardly had a chance to catch my breath and here we are at the end of the year. Insane, no?
So here’s to December! Scarves and mittens. Hot cider and carols. Festive storefronts and hurried shoppers. The smell of pine, red noses, crackling fires, and air so cold you can see your breath. With that, here are two images that you can only get this time of year. Frost-covered leaves, the true sign that fall is over. Remember Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers from Fantasia? It’s something like that.
Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

Someone painted pictures on my
Windowpane last night —
Willow trees with trailing boughs
And flowers, frosty white,And lovely crystal butterflies;
But when the morning sun
Touched them with its golden beams,
They vanished one by one.
