Emily + Chris’ e-session

Engagement

Emily and Chris are awesome. As I wrote before in the teaser post, these two are 100% goofy, 100% fun, and 100% in love. You’d better believe 300% means awesome.

They live in the outskirts of DC and came up to spend time with friends and family and to have a fun romp around the Philadelphia Museum of Art for engagement pictures.

When you’re around the Art Museum, where is the first place to photograph? The steps, of course!

And on a hot summer day there was no resisting the fountain just screaming for them to come in and play.

I LOVE how Emily just nuzzles up into Chris. Totally smitten.

Emily and Chris love the water. Chris proposed to Emily at a bayfront restaurant in front of all of their friends (she consequently tackled him with a “yes!” and he made her take the ring for fear that his shaking hands would drop it into the water). So it was important that we have a little agua in the background of some of the pictures. Philly’s got the Schuylkill.

We moseyed around the Water Works restaurant and gazebos.

So they might not be classically trained ballerinas, but they’ve got moves.

We walked around to Boathouse Row as well and made friends (enemies?) with the geese.

We frolicked around in the Azalea Garden on Kelly Drive. Don’t let Chris’ tough Navy exterior fool you for one second – this guy can frolic and goof off with the best of them. Something tells me Emily brings it out of him.

We ended our session basking in gorgeous light and clover.

Emily and Chris, I hope you had as much fun as I did! Can’t wait to hear more about your Tarrytown, NY weddings plans for next year!

Philadelphia Area Engagement Photographer | Valley Forge National Park | Marisa + RJ
It isn’t every day that I head out for an engagement session hours after receiving an inquiry from a couple.  I was happy to meet up with Marisa and RJ on a stunning fall afternoon at the place that holds so much importance to them: Valley Forge National Park. To have some understanding of why this place is so special, we need to go back about 10 years when they first met while working on a project together at work.  Marisa job has her traveling all over the world at a constant pace so it wasn’t until 3 years later when she found herself back in the Philly area and contacted RJ just to catch up over dinner. It grew from there across ...

Engagement Session at Chrissy Field
This past weekend I had an engagement session with a great couple who made the drive from Union City to Chrissy Field for Golden Hour (what photographers refer to as the hour before sunset when everything gets a beautiful golden glow). They have been dating for 7 years (she's a very patient woman). Their first meeting story was great: he threatened to throw her over a balcony at a friend's party. What an introduction. You could say he literally swept her off her feet! (Okay, that was really bad.) It was beautiful out and we made the most of the clear skies to get the Golden Gate Bridge in a few pictures. She's short so I couldn't resist a ...

Brittany + Justin engagement session in Delaware
So I see this couple show up on motorcycles and think to myself, “I bet they’d be fun but no way that’s my couple. Who wants to be worried about helmet hair for their engagement session?” I text Brittany to get her ETA and receive, “We are here! By the bikes :)”. Awesome! And not a single trace of helmet head.We met at Brecknock Park in Camden, Delaware and the session pretty much rocked. As well as defending her against spiders, Justin can put Brittany in fits of laughter. He’s a goofball and they play off of each other so well.We had the kind of light that you get in winter. The kind that makes everything crisp and peach-colored. M ...
