Engagement Photography in Chestnut Hill: Katie + Seth

Engagement

Katie & Seth met at work, fell in love, vacationed in Mexico, didn’t yet get engaged, and then went to Morris Arboretum where Seth proposed. (She said yes, by the way.) Katie and Seth have a 110 year old house and a Jack Russell terrier. They also have a whole lotta love and yours truly as their wedding photographer for their Radnor wedding at the Willows this September.

The three of us met up last week in Chestnut Hill to go wandering and take some engagement pictures. It is a great little town – the storefronts have oodles of character and the main street is cobblestone.

I gasped when I saw this fantastic green door half-covered with ivy.

And Katie had scoped out the area earlier and took us to a monstrous playground.

We found our way around to an old water tower as well and meandered through the neighborhoods.

We stopped outside of cake, an adorable greenhouse/café that we all committed to checking out some other day.

We took pictures with some of the fierce local wildlife. Seth, what did you name him?

And I had them playing chicken with the traffic. We all came out unscathed but don’t think that photography sessions aren’t fraught with danger.

All in all it was a great evening and I’m really looking forward to what they have in store for the wedding. Check back frequently because it’s coming up soon! Thanks, Katie & Seth!

I don't think these two expected that we'd see so much and get up to a little bit of trouble at their engagement session.

Princeton, NJ Engagement Photographer | Casey + Eric
It’s the age old love story. She was a nurse; he was a resident. She had her eyes on him and asked if he wanted to go out one night. They went to Triumph Brewery in Princeton, down the street from the hospital, and conversation was so easy. The date that night and all of them since them have been so good that they’ll be celebrating their wedding next month at Knowlton Mansion in Philadelphia. These two have a thing for cooking that made me want to invite myself over to their place for dinner. Casey apparently makes a pretty mean mac and cheese and can rock some pancakes. Eric’s got the omelets. They made a rack of lamb for Valentine’s D ...

proposal photography in Philadelphia with engagement ring
Philadelphia Proposal Photographer | Magic Gardens | Skyler + Lake
Why do my shoots fall on crazy blizzard days instead of the crazy tropical days that precede them?  Whatever the reason, the chilly weather gets my couples to snuggle a little tighter and laugh with the right amount of shiver in their smiles.  This was the certainly the case last Friday when I got to be sneaky and photograph Lake’s proposal to Skyler at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. With the cold weather and having checked off so much already that day, Lake’s mom texted me to move the shoot up.  I was already driving around the area and got myself ready. As planned, Lake and Skyler came down the steps when Lake stopped and pulled ou ...
