Haesook + Wayne: Engagement Session at Longwood Gardens

Engagement

It’s fun when couples tell me that they’re not really big on PDA; I like a challenge. Haesook and Wayne were one such couple though you’d never believe it by looking at their pictures. They met at Penn through church, were friends for a few years, and then slowly turned that friendship into a romance.

She actually didn’t believe him on the night that he proposed. He picked her up from the airport after visiting family in Korea. He had candles everywhere, pictures of the two of them, he sang to her, and then got down on one knee. Still in a state of jetlag, she thought it was all in fun! Not so.

They’ll be getting married next month with a wedding in North Wales. For right now, check out their fantastic wintery engagement session we had over at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square. We showed up during the orchid extravaganza and wandered through the glorious displays.

I love that these photographs show just how into each other they are.

We braved the cold for some really fantastic shots around the snow covered grounds. Most people were in the greenhouses so we practically had the place to ourselves. It was serene and so beautiful.

And seriously, could they be any more adorable?

Haesook and Wayne informed me of the wonders of Korean dramas and we came up with some absurd plotlines of our own. It was a great afternoon with cuddling, laughing, and some beautiful winter light. I can’t wait for the wedding next month! Thanks again, you two!

Love me and the world is mine.

Engagement Session Photography at Valley Forge National Park: Kelly + Kevin
I don’t think I have it in me to live too dangerously. Kelly and Kevin’s engagement session at Valley Forge National Park is about as ferocious as things get for me (as long as you’re not counting sky diving and training for a marathon). We battled geese, ticks, traffic, gnats, and a very intense park ranger named Bruce. Never fear; we overcame and have some fantastic images to show for our adventures. But first let me tell you a little about Kelly and Kevin. They knew each other back in high school. He was a too cool quarterback and a year ahead of her. It wasn’t until a few years ago that they reconnected at a pub and she was eventuall ...

Delaware County Engagement Photographer | Ridley Creek State Park | Stacy + Jared
It wasn’t very long ago that I was contacted by the organization Wish Upon a Wedding to photograph Jared and Stacy’s wedding. Wish Upon a Wedding is a nonprofit wish granting organization that provides weddings for couples facing terminal illnesses and serious life-altering circumstances. There have only been a handful of these weddings in Philadelphia and there are scores of wedding photographers signed up as members so I was truly humbled to be asked to be a part of this incredible experience.Stacy and Jared met at a Nascar race. She was there for the race; he was there for the beer. It started raining and Jared’s group was invited to s ...

Kelly Anne + Dave: Proposal in Fairmount Park
She didn’t even see it coming. Dave had convinced Kelly Anne a proposal was about a year away so she didn’t think much of it when they went into the city last week for lunch and then drove around parts of Philly for her to take pictures.Kelly Anne is a burgeoning photographer; pictures are important to her. She’s the beautiful snow bunny I photographed last winter. Dave came to me knowing three things:1) he wanted to propose2) he wanted fabulous pictures of it3) he wanted it to be in a beautiful place so the pictures would be that much betterWe brainstormed and scouted and came up with this hidden gem of a park on Kelly Drive. This piece ...
