Haesook + Wayne: Engagement Session at Longwood Gardens

Engagement

It’s fun when couples tell me that they’re not really big on PDA; I like a challenge. Haesook and Wayne were one such couple though you’d never believe it by looking at their pictures. They met at Penn through church, were friends for a few years, and then slowly turned that friendship into a romance.

She actually didn’t believe him on the night that he proposed. He picked her up from the airport after visiting family in Korea. He had candles everywhere, pictures of the two of them, he sang to her, and then got down on one knee. Still in a state of jetlag, she thought it was all in fun! Not so.

They’ll be getting married next month with a wedding in North Wales. For right now, check out their fantastic wintery engagement session we had over at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square. We showed up during the orchid extravaganza and wandered through the glorious displays.

I love that these photographs show just how into each other they are.

We braved the cold for some really fantastic shots around the snow covered grounds. Most people were in the greenhouses so we practically had the place to ourselves. It was serene and so beautiful.

And seriously, could they be any more adorable?

Haesook and Wayne informed me of the wonders of Korean dramas and we came up with some absurd plotlines of our own. It was a great afternoon with cuddling, laughing, and some beautiful winter light. I can’t wait for the wedding next month! Thanks again, you two!

Love me and the world is mine.

I love shooting engagement sessions and include them in all of my Philly area weddings so that the couple and I can really get to know each other. (See this for more reasons.) Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Old City | Angela + Jim
My meeting with Angie and Jim was a long time coming. They live in Georgia so I had been meeting and talking a lot with Angie’s mother and having group Skype chats so it was with much anticipation to actually see these two in the flesh. It was sooo worth it.They are known as “the athletic couple”. Don’t let the pink and heels fool you; I was told early on that Angie is “no frou frou girl”. She plays soccer and they bike and have done several mudruns together. They are fit and sporty and absolutely adorable. They met at work. The story goes that Jim actually left the job so that he could ask Angela out. He didn’t want to have to face h ...

Engagement Session Photography at Valley Forge National Park: Kelly + Kevin
I don’t think I have it in me to live too dangerously. Kelly and Kevin’s engagement session at Valley Forge National Park is about as ferocious as things get for me (as long as you’re not counting sky diving and training for a marathon). We battled geese, ticks, traffic, gnats, and a very intense park ranger named Bruce. Never fear; we overcame and have some fantastic images to show for our adventures. But first let me tell you a little about Kelly and Kevin. They knew each other back in high school. He was a too cool quarterback and a year ahead of her. It wasn’t until a few years ago that they reconnected at a pub and she was eventuall ...
