Happy Valentine's Day! ⋆ Lindsay Docherty Photography
February 14, 2014

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Personal

I am so happy to announce the winners of the Lindsay Docherty Photography contest for the best of 2013! These two couples will be getting a free huge canvas print of their winning images (a $569 value).

For weddings, the winners are Kerri and Dan, who were married last March in a small Philadelphia ceremony with just their nearest and dearest. I absolutely love this image and think that it will look absolutely fantastic as a 20×30” canvas print!

The winning engagement session image belongs to Jen and Jeremy (and Bailey!) who rocked their Rittenhouse engagement session and are sure to have a flippin awesome wedding later this year at one of my favorite venues in the area, Tyler Arboretum.

Thanks to all of the friends and family (and strangers) who collectively cast 808 votes! And an even greater thank you to my couples for being so fun, charming, exuberant, and more loving than I could ever have imagined. I can’t believe how lucky I am to be a part of so many love stories and meet so many incredible people.

Thank you and HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

XOXO,
Lindsay

Without Valentine’s Day, February would be… well, January.

Or maybe you’re a 9 to 5er with a few weekends to spare down the shore. In any case, think of me slaving away at the computer… and grinning at all of the memories I’ve been so lucky to share ...

Philadelphia Gay Pride Parade and Festival 2014
Yesterday marked the first Gay Pride Parade and Festival in Philadelphia since gay marriage became legal in Pennsylvania just last month.  The parade, which started in the Gayborhood and wound its way down to Penn’s Landing, drew the largest crowds yet.  There were rainbows everywhere.  The Village People headlined the show at Penn’s Landing, several couples married at Independence Hall, and there were community-based LGBTQ booths (hi HRC friends!) as far as the eye could see down by the river. Here are just a few pictures I snapped while celebrating yesterday. As much fun as it was to see the revelry, I look f ...

I went during "golden hour" and the place was list up beautifully. There's really no better time for lovely, sun-drenched pictures than the hour or so before sunset. I try to schedule all of my shoots around this time so that I can get this gorgeous look. Photographers refer to this as "golden hour" or "magic hour". It's easy to see why.Enjoy!*Please note these images are made available ...
