In Texas Getting Schooled

Personal

I’m going to be M.I.A. for the next few days. I’ll be in San Antonio, Texas for a photography convention. I’ll be spending my days steeped in educational workshops, industry discussions, kick ass shoot-outs, an overwhelming expo, and generally getting my photo on!

I thrive on learning and get so psyched for the yearly convention. Remember that nerdy kid who loved taking notes and using her highlighters? Yeah, that was me. I’m thrilled for the hands-on fun and classroom lessons.

If you’re another photographer attending either the DWF Convention or Imaging USA and want to meet up for coffee of drinks, just let me know!

Because of this, I can’t guarantee my response time to emails for the next week. I promise to respond as soon as I return. You can always try me on my cell at 215-703-7717. If you’ve even been to these conventions, you know that they’re intense!

See you in a week!

The great aim of education is not knowledge but action.

Good morning!!! (She writes at 12:31pm.)Is it safe to come out? Now that it’s April, do we finally get to pack the scarves and gloves? Will I be able to reconnect with my beloved flip-flops soon? The never-ending Winter and its accompanying entourage, Muck, Malaise, and Misery have made their exit and I feel like I can crawl out from under the covers again. The last few months have been beyond brutal for me. I am a warm-weather gal and I love me some Vitamin D. I know our spring will be cut tragically short but I intend to frolic and bask as much as possible. In my case, that probably just means re-starting my running regimen to get i ...

MS Sucks. Don’t you agree?
For the past few years I’ve been raising money for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. It’s a crazy, miserable, underfunded disease that currently has no known cause and no known cure. The body turns on itself and attacks connections in the brain and spinal cord, causing disability all over the body. It is an unpredictable disease because it takes different forms depending where it strikes – vision, mobility, speech, bladder, memory… These disabilities range in severity as well. It could be as bad as tingling in the legs or complete paralysis. Some victims have symptoms that all or mostly go away after a while but some last. There is ...

Granted, it’s cold and miserable out and there was a possibility of snow today but that’s not going to matter. Why? Because it’s opening day. And in this area, baseball is kind of a big deal. Just a little. This day marks the beginning of a season that brings excitement, anticipation, hope, and happy days spent outdoors. (You hear that, mother nature?!)I lucked out and was offered a ticket for the Phillies’ opening day game. What kind of Philadelphia resident would I be to pass up an opportunity like that? (the answer: a warm one.) If you’re in the stadium with me, give me a holler!Every month I feature new images for download for you ...
