I visited Valley Forge National Historical Park a few weeks ago on a scouting mission for a project. I went during “golden hour” and the place was list up beautifully. There’s really no better time for lovely, sun-drenched pictures than the hour or so before sunset. I try to schedule all of my shoots around this time so that I can get this gorgeous look. Photographers refer to this as “golden hour” or “magic hour”. It’s easy to see why.

Enjoy!

A kind of golden hour one remembers for a life time… Everything was touched with magic.

Sunday Snapshots around Philadelphia
I had a friend in town last weekend and we definitely did the touristy Philly thing. Thankfully he showed up during the window of absolutely great weather and I was able to proudly show off where I grew up, some classic Center City Philadelphia spots, and some of my favorite places in the area. Here are a few images from our day in the city. We started out at the Independence Visitor Center of course and took the Phlash around. I could not get over the incredible clouds that hung out with us all day.We stopped off at the Reading Terminal Market and enjoyed some really delicious vegetable lasagna and took in all the sights, sounds, and smell ...

I love April. Sure, there may be a few days of surprises (I don’t think I’ll ever forget Carolyn and Jeremy’s torrential downpour wedding) but we’re finally over this lion/lamb business and will most assuredly see real spring soon.Do you hear that? Those are birds chirping as I’m typing this. The sun is up in the mornings again. I no longer need to wear 10 layers to go outside. There are buds on everything. The crocuses came up a few weeks ago and I’m seeing daffodils everywhere. For someone who despises the cold, this is my happy time. The year is turning around and the earth is opening up. I can run outside, I can put away my sweater ...

Cooking with Lindsay
Every now and then my partner and I decide to celebrate a certain food for the month. We usually forget about it but when we remember, it's a lot of fun. In an effort to expand our palettes, we try to make different dishes with the food and experiment with different types. In the past we've had a months devoted to mangoes, hummus, grapefruit, sweet potatoes, spinach, cantaloupe, watermelon, and kiwi. Here are some pictures from previous months. This month is pear month. I purchased eight varieties of pears for us to sample and decide on our favorites. Who knew that there were even eight varieties of pears in the first place?(For those who ...
