July Facebook Cover Images

Personal

Granted, we have had rain and thunderstorms every day for what feels like years. Everything is soggy (and frizzy!) but lush. I still find myself missing San Francisco but I remember how much I ached for a great, big thunderstorm outside my window. This area is pretty fabulous. We have seasons and just about anything you could want within a 2 hour drive – mountains, beaches, cities, countrysides.

Just the other week I went to a balloon festival. There was a band singing country covers songs, fair food (I had my first fried oreo. and then another.), a piglet adoption tent, families on grass-stained quilts, and little kids with bare feet running all over the place. It was a pretty awesome night and I felt lucky that I live in a place that has the opportunity for happy, random excursions like the Chester County Balloon Festival.

It was a nice, lazy, weightless night to sit and watch the colorful hot air balloons float up into the big country sky. First one, then about a dozen. Life is good.

Gratitude
I hope you and yours are celebrating and giving thanks with friends, family, and a monstrous feast. I know I am. Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.~ Melody Beattie

MS Sucks. Don’t you agree?
For the past few years I’ve been raising money for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. It’s a crazy, miserable, underfunded disease that currently has no known cause and no known cure. The body turns on itself and attacks connections in the brain and spinal cord, causing disability all over the body. It is an unpredictable disease because it takes different forms depending where it strikes – vision, mobility, speech, bladder, memory… These disabilities range in severity as well. It could be as bad as tingling in the legs or complete paralysis. Some victims have symptoms that all or mostly go away after a while but some last. There is ...

July Facebook Cover Images and wait… it’s already July!? I’m getting married?!
It’s July.  WHAT?!  July?!  How did that happen?!  How is our 18 month engagement coming to an end?  How will I handle calling this fiancé guy “husband” in just 14 short days? While I am 110% on board with marrying such a catch, I admit that I am so not ready for the actual wedding.  Had I known at the planning stages what I know now, this wedding would look very different.  And yes, that surprises me.  I thought I had a handle on weddings.  And I do.  Stateside weddings.  In English.  That are not my own. As it turns out, a destination wedding is a lovely idea but one better meant for people who aren’t so anal retentive detail-oriented ...
