Main Line Engagement Photographer | Merion Park | Courtney + Sean

Engagement

Sean’s cousin is Courtney’s best friend. Sean came back from deployment in Iraq and went out to meet them one night. That was seven years ago. They love being outdoors (the original idea for the engagement session included a kayak, no joke!), especially with their 6 year old mutt, Raleigh. They spend every weekend outside so there was no way around the fact that we needed to do their engagement session somewhere lush and beautiful.

I met up with them at Merion Park in Montgomery County, right outside of Philly city limits. The evening was absolutely beautiful and these two were so easy.

Check out the stunning engagement ring. The diamond in it is from the ring her father gave her mother but Sean had it refitted to something unique and sooo Courtney. He proposed on Earth Day (her favorite day of the year). They were supposed to go out to a park and plant trees but it was raining that day so they got a tree and planted it nearby. It was while he was on the ground that he asked her to marry him.

I was their little Sherpa guide and led them through some overgrown bushes (thanks for trekking through in a dress, Courtney!) to some still active train tracks. I’m happy to report that we all survived it and I love the images we got there too.

I know I don’t usually post straight on shots but these two sets of eyes were just too incredible to resist. I mean really!

His Phillies hat is a staple to Sean’s wardrobe so we brought it out at the end of the shoot.

Courtney and Sean, I’m so looking forward to seeing you again in October and playing more at the wedding at Abbie Holmes Estate. You two were fantastic!

30th Street Station in Philly is just gorgeous. I absolutely adore the architecture and it's just neat to photograph at a train station.Michelle and Alastair found me through some strange connections (my friend Martha who lives in Seattle who I met at photography school in Montana referred me to Michelle and Alastair who live in San Francisco but met Martha and her husband, Jason, in Ithaca). Despite their wedding being in New York, Michelle and Alastair happened to be in Philadelphia for Michelle's bridal shower. Need a flow chart? I do.Regardless… I met with the adorable Michelle and Alastair for a lovely (albeit rainy) engagement sess ...
