Kind, gentle, generous, and loving were words that came up again and again on Lily and Greg’s beautiful fall wedding day. And with good reason. They are all of those things and more. I learned at their fall engagement session last year at Valley Forge Park that these two are simply wonderful people. They warm the people around them. It’s a very special feeling to be in their presence.
They were blessed with a beautiful fall wedding day. The ladies started at the Wayne Hotel, rocking out to Disney tunes, courtesy of Lily’s maid of honor and sister, Maggie. If you’ve seen the end of Sleeping Beauty (and who hasn’t?), Lily and Maggie kept sneaking behind one another to switch between Disney and Buble like Aurora’s wedding dress.
Greg and the groomsmen were over at the Radnor Hotel looking rather dapper.
I loved the engraving inside Greg’s rose gold wedding band.
Lily got into her long sleeved gown and looked like royalty. She has so much grace and composure (even when jumping on a bed with her little sister). So many times throughout the day, I glanced over and saw Lily looking so much like a princess, not the flighty Disney kind but more like Duchess Kate or Grace Kelly.
St. Thomas of Villanova Church was as stunning as ever. (Shout out to Mrs. Greenhalgh!) Lily attending Villanova for undergrad while Greg was at Penn State. The Catholic ceremony was beautiful, made even more special by friends and family doing readings and playing music.
After the ceremony, we took more pictures with the bridesmaids and groomsmen outside around the campus.
There was a quick jaunt over to the Llanerch Country Club for their wedding reception. This was the place Greg’s parents said their vows a few decades ago. I love it when family traditions play such a large role in the wedding day.
I took the newlyweds around the grounds (or rather, they took me) for some pictures before the cocktail hour was in full swing.
Lily and Greg started off the party with first dance, “I Wouldn’t be a Man” by Josh Turner.
For a thirteen year old maid of honor, Maggie’s speech with brother, Nicholas, was superb!
Throughout the night, revelry reigned! I saw one of my favorite previous couples, Jen and Jeremy, and partied with a future couple, Christina and Jason.
There was so much love in that room.
Lily and Greg, congratulations! I will be following along with your life together and I just know there are great things ahead!
I wouldn’t be a man if I didn’t feel like this
I wouldn’t be a man if a woman like you
Was anything I could resist
I’d have to be from another planet
Where love doesn’t exist
I wouldn’t be a man if I didn’t feel like this
~ Josh Turner, “I Wouldn’t Be a Man”
