March Facebook Cover Images

Personal

Yes, my March post is late but, you know what? Spring is late and by more than 5 days! Enough!!!!

I am pale and cold and so cantankerous right now! I haven’t run in ages because I can’t bring myself to get outside in the grimy slush that is everywhere. The season had better get its act together STAT!  This is my birthday month and I want picnics and daffodils, dammit!

Every month, I feature new images for download for you to use as your Facebook cover photo. This month I offer up what we should be seeing outside right now. See that first picture? It’s dirt (dərt). You probably don’t remember what it looks like. Those other things; they’re flowers (flou(-ə)rz). I know they look foreign right now but hopefully we’ll see them soon enough and have a bit of spring before zipping straight into balmy summer.

Click to download these images and see them at their full size and resolution.

Please note these images are made available for personal use only.

MS Sucks. Don’t you agree?
For the past few years I’ve been raising money for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. It’s a crazy, miserable, underfunded disease that currently has no known cause and no known cure. The body turns on itself and attacks connections in the brain and spinal cord, causing disability all over the body. It is an unpredictable disease because it takes different forms depending where it strikes – vision, mobility, speech, bladder, memory… These disabilities range in severity as well. It could be as bad as tingling in the legs or complete paralysis. Some victims have symptoms that all or mostly go away after a while but some last. There is ...

A peek inside: our whimsical gender neutral nursery
In January 2015 when I first found out I was pregnant, I was overwhelmed.  We had just started trying and became pregnant right away.  To be honest, I wasn’t ready.  I needed more time and everything I read said to expect many months.  I was looking forward to the charting and planning.  But there it was: that extra line. To avoid thinking about the massive impending change to our lives, I spent the next 38 weeks focusing my attention to designing the nursery.  I had Pinterest boards galore and wandered in and out of my husband’s then-office almost daily to get measurements of walls and windows.  I had scraps of paper with sketches, di ...

Mother’s Day in MD
I spent last weekend with my mom for mother's day and thought I'd share some pictures from my time there. She lives in historic little Berlin, Maryland which is right outside of Ocean City, MD.My mom has quite a green thumb and spends all of her free time in her glorious garden. She can tell you all about everything in there too. And it's this ever changing thing - she is constantly replanting this and that. She tells me it's already changed since I took these pics. Take a look…We went into OC for a day to check out Springfest and the boardwalk. I was a complete glutton, eating my way through boardwalk fries with vinegar, ice cream, and ...
