Montgomery County Couples Photographer | Valley Forge National Park | Elizabeth + Matthew
Engagement
It was drizzly and traffic was bad but the colors were incredible, the location was perfect, and Elizabeth and Matthew were awesome. The last time I saw them was on a cold and rainy day last December as they said their vows in a small wedding at Philadelphia City Hall. Now, as the old married couple that they are, we romped around Valley Forge National Park for a love shoot. This was a pretty ideal location for them. Elizabeth worked at VFNP this past summer, keeping her nose to the ground looking for birds’ nests. They’re both very active and love the outdoors. They had actually just come back hiking in the Delaware Water Gap and camping in below freezing temperatures in New Hampshire right before that.
(Please note the adorable tights with hearts on the back!)
A quick change later and we were on a mission to find tall grass (sans snakes). Of course the grounds had recently been cleared for the season. Not to be dissuaded, we trekked over the river and through the woods (not really) to find the perfect spot.
The skies were getting darker as we headed back.
There were some “props” that we wanted to try out for a picture or two. Sadie, a 5 year old Westie, and Dexter, a 6 year old Yorkie, were eager to join the party. If you know terriers…
This picture is my favorite from the day. I think it is so perfectly them. They’re loving and cozy and affectionate and their love for each other is so obvious.
No ticks, right? Enjoy!
