New Jersey Engagement Photographer | Strawbridge Park | Kelly + Christian

Engagement

Kelly and I went back and forth over a location for her engagement session with Christian for a while. We debated the merits of so many locations and decided on Strawbridge Park in New Jersey. Had I known then what I know now, I would have just told her to show up at a trash heap and we’d still create awesomeness (hmmm… that could be cool…).

They showed up with ideas, images that she liked, a change of clothes, and absolute magic. I could not be any more in love with the engagement pictures we got that day. They are so sweet and intimate, colorful and lovely. And sheesh, these two look like they walked out of a catalog for J. Crew!!!

They met while attending the University of Scranton but didn’t start dating until 1.5 years later when they found themselves as the only singletons at a surprisingly small New Year’s Eve party. You can guess who paired up when the clock struck midnight.

I loooooove this image and that rogue strand of hair is perfection! (So there, Christian!)

They have been together for about four years now.

Christian recalls going to check out rings one day just to see how it felt. He was shocked that it didn’t freak him out and realized that Kelly was really, truly, seriously THE ONE. He bought a ring that very day and held on to it for a few months.

She says that he terrorized her about the proposal and she felt that it was never going to come. He called her out on her roofdeck one misty night under the guise of something being wrong with the grill and popped the question.

You will see a lot more of these two pretty soon – their wedding is in March at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia and I cannot wait to see what kind of magic we can make then!

You’ve heard stories where person A meets person B and the butterflies/rainbows/fireworks are instantaneous, right?   That’s what happened when Jennifer spotted Mel.  (Incidentally, that’s what happened when I met these two too.)Here’s a tidbit.

Katie + Justin’s engagement session
Ice cream-loving Katie met and fell in love with Justin, a guy from Tennessee with a southern drawl and the patience to wander around New York City all day before popping the question in front of the huge Christmas tree this past winter (he was almost forced to do it earlier at NBC Studios but that's another story altogether). They don't recall their first date or when this relationship became real. They met at school in Tennessee (she's from Delaware) and their friendship eventually morphed into something more.We all met up the other week at Battery Park in New Castle, Delaware for their e-session. This was a fantastic location with trees ...

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Drexel University | Abby + Ryan
You see some people gazing at each other and you can tell that they’re still in the total puppydog phase. You know what I’m talking about – the smittenness that happens in the first few months or year of dating. The thing is, sometimes I see the same adoration in my couples during the engagement session after they’ve known each other for, say, 5.5 years. I saw this with Abby and Ryan. These two met at a party while they were at school at Drexel University. They played a game of ping pong (which Abby won!) and I suppose it’s been googly eyes ever since. We did their engagement session at the location of their courtship: Drexel’s campus. You k ...
