Alyssa and David’s wedding was a very special one for me. Call me hormonal because I was two weeks from giving birth but this one had all the feels. The Brooklake Country Club served as the backdrop to the wonderful day.
The ladies primped in a lovely bridal suite. Alyssa wore earrings created from David’s late mother’s earrings and her mother’s necklace.
A foreign friend was around for support.
The gentlemen got ready one door away from the ladies. I’m digging their custom rocks glasses.
David’s wedding band was one of the most unique and sentimental I’ve ever seen. His own mother’s wedding band was part of his own – placed around the inside, always close.
Not to be outdone by the extreme freezing temperatures of their Philadelphia engagement session, the day was only about two steps away from sizzling. Everyone took it in stride and took the day for what it was – a celebration. The almost-weds shared their first look overlooking the golf course and we got ourselves some sweet wheels to take a tour of the place and play around.
After deciding that the outside might not be the best for the group, we gathered together for formals in the windowed cocktail hour room. I loved that there were so many little ones around that day.
When searching out family wedding pictures, Alyssa and David came upon the Ketubah of his grandparents and realized in a wonderful twist of serendipity that their wedding date was exactly the same, only 73 years earlier.
They reveled and received guests for the Ketubah signing and then the Tisch and Bedeken. I loved their handdrawn, blue marriage document. It’s such a lovely thing that Jewish weddings always have a beautiful piece of art to commemorate the occasion (and make available for future generations).
The ceremony was beautiful. It was held under a chuppah that had housed six other weddings and was handmade by David’s grandmother.
The reception saw its share of tears and much, much laughter. Alyssa and David started the party with their first dance to “ All of Me” by John Legend.
We were graced by an incredible sunset and an evening of great dance moves.
It was a beautiful day and I loved being a part of it, even if it meant getting a little choked up a time or two.
You’re my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I’m winning
Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you
~ John Legend, “All of Me”
In case you’re wondering what an almost popping photographer looks like. To be fair, the kid was early.
