Personal

This is the time for colors in this area. Just look out your window. This is why friends and family think I’m a ghost this time of year. It’s the busiest part of the year for me because the foliage is so vibrant that everyone wants a piece of it! My October dates booked up lickity split and then November did too when I had to let people know October was closed. This means that there are still a ton of sessions and weddings coming up on the blog before the end of the year. And we’re talking some fantastic imagery too! Indoor weddings, outdoor weddings, city hall weddings, boudoir sessions, and engagement sessions like you wouldn’t believe!

Oh, and if you’re putting off booking your wedding with LDP, don’t. I’m more than half way to my 2012 limit and there will likely be price increases in the new year. Just saying.

I’m leaving you with some incredible colors from the maple tree outside my house. Hopefully it’ll help keep your spirits up as the days get shorter and colder. Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

Please note these images are made available for personal use only.

How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days.

Winter is the time when I can finally breathe again after the madness of fall and the gazillions of weddings that it brings. I use the winter to deal heavily with the advertising/marketing/business end of it all. It’s also when I have the opportunity for professional education. There’s a photography conference in mid-January and I look forward to it every year. This year the Digital Wedding Forum Convention was held in New Orleans. It gathers some of the biggest rock stars of the industry for small classes, shootouts (not nearly as dangerous as it sounds), mentoring sessions, and an all-around good time. A group of us went out and played ...

Mother’s Day in MD
I spent last weekend with my mom for mother's day and thought I'd share some pictures from my time there. She lives in historic little Berlin, Maryland which is right outside of Ocean City, MD.My mom has quite a green thumb and spends all of her free time in her glorious garden. She can tell you all about everything in there too. And it's this ever changing thing - she is constantly replanting this and that. She tells me it's already changed since I took these pics. Take a look…We went into OC for a day to check out Springfest and the boardwalk. I was a complete glutton, eating my way through boardwalk fries with vinegar, ice cream, and ...

Marriage Equality comes to Pennsylvania!
This isn’t politics; this is love.Anyone who knows me or my business knows that LGBT rights has been a top issue for me for years. I am a proud supporter of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and simply believe that two consenting adults should be given the equal protections and rights under the law whether they’re gay, lesbian, straight, transgender, black, white, or purple. Love is love.I was living and mourning in San Francisco in 2008 when Prop 8 was passed and cheered its rightful unconstitutionality in 2010.  I celebrated the end of DOMA last year.Today I cheer again. This time for my home state of Pennsylvania that ruled in favor ...
