November Facebook Image & the fight against MS

Personal Uncategorized

This year has been more crazy and wonderful than I ever could have imagined. I started the year off running my very first marathon. I had spent countless hours in training, vowing to never put myself through such misery again. But then I crossed that finish line and it was the most euphoric feeling in the world. I got the bug. I decided to train and run in the Philly Marathon this November.

In June I participated in the messy MuckRuckus benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. I badly rolled my ankle some time after mile 3 and had to leave the run. A trip to the doctor confirmed that I had fractured my ankle and had to stay away from running for three months, leaving me without enough time to train for the Philly marathon. I was heartbroken.

I’ve been running again (slowly) and will be running the Philadelphia half marathon on November 18th. I’m raising money for the National MS Society in the process and would appreciate any contribution you can make for the cause.

I won’t be running all 26.2 but I will be out there sweating through 13.1 miles and I will be working on raising as much as I can for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. Your donation would absolutely mean the world to me:

For my clients, I have an added bonus for you:  Starting at $40, I will credit you half of any donation towards Lindsay Docherty Photography products and/or services.  Donate $40, get $20.  Donate $400, get $200.  Donate $4000, get $2000.  Any amount above $40 will get you a credit.  This can be spent towards prints, sessions, wedding photography coverage, canvas prints, cards, etc.  Donate and let me know how you wish to spend your credit.  Not valid for orders or contracts already in place but can be used for additional products from previous sessions/coverage.  New clients and friends/family wanting to donate and get prints from your coverage can also take advantage of this.  Contact me for more information.

July Desktop Images
Oh how I love these long days. It just feels right that I should wake up to sunshine early in the morning and have a full evening of light. I remember being a little kid and being put to bed at 8pm and thinking, "Seriously?! There's still plenty of play left in this day – just look outside!" So get out there and play. Use all of this light for a picnic, a bike ride, time at the dog park, wandering around Manayunk or South Street, open-air dining, or just plain old cloud watching.Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Fathers
About this time last year I learned how to develop film and print my own images in the darkroom. I wanted to give my first finished picture to my dad for his birthday on June 23rd. I agonized over which image to choose. I finally decided on this iris and spent weeks perfecting my chemical baths, lights, and dodging and burning to create a portrait I was proud to give him.He was the one who gave me my first camera and encouraged my love of photography. He has been proud of me every step of the way through all trials and tribulations.I have just experienced my first Father's Day without my father. He passed away July 7th, 2006 from lung can ...

VH1’s The Shot and some more underwater photography
So I don't watch tv at all; I don't even have cable. But a few of my photographer friends were talking about a new show on VH1 called The Shot, which is something akin to America's Next Top Model (so I've been told). The twist is that it's from the other side of the lens and the photographers are all pitted against each other for a chance at a Victoria's Secret campaign and a spread in Marie Claire. I've actually started watching it on my computer – which is great because there are no commercials.Anyway, the last show featured the budding photographers taking pictures of a model underwater in beautiful dresses. It is something I would lov ...
