Personal

How is it October already?! I can’t believe how quickly the year has flown by. This month is officially the busiest month I’ve ever had. There are so many incredible weddings that you’ll see splashed across the blog soon. And if you know someone getting married in 2012, tell them to get going because I’m already halfway to my wedding limit for next year. Crazy, right?!

In honor of this fabulous month devoted to baseball, fall colors, and All Hallows’ Eve, I’m giving you some digital candy (if you come by my place I’m happy to give you real candy too, but I’ll expect a trick). Candy corn gets a bad rap. Granted, it tastes just like a bunch of sugar but it’s so quintessentially Halloween and who doesn’t still get at least a little twinge of excitement when thinking back to Hallloweens as a kid and the monstrous amount of loot from a successful night out. So please tell me you’ve got a costume party or two to attend. I expect to hear stories of sugar overload, fabulous costumes, and pumpkin carving.

Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

Please note these images are made available for personal use only.

Nothing on earth so beautiful as the final haul on Halloween night.

I love April. Sure, there may be a few days of surprises (I don’t think I’ll ever forget Carolyn and Jeremy’s torrential downpour wedding) but we’re finally over this lion/lamb business and will most assuredly see real spring soon.Do you hear that? Those are birds chirping as I’m typing this. The sun is up in the mornings again. I no longer need to wear 10 layers to go outside. There are buds on everything. The crocuses came up a few weeks ago and I’m seeing daffodils everywhere. For someone who despises the cold, this is my happy time. The year is turning around and the earth is opening up. I can run outside, I can put away my sweater ...

Nesting Urges
I don't know what has gotten into me lately but I have this inexplicable lust for more space, a new bed, big windows, fresh flowers in every room, white washed kitchens, wood furniture with chipped paint, gauzy curtains, and lots of sunshine. My trip to Ikea yesterday probably didn't help matters. And I love Pottery Barn but I really wish they wouldn't cram so much stuff into their pictures.I'll order all of the following, please:My kitchens (that's right, I'll have several)Bedrooms(Note the canopy bed. I saw this pic in the book The Comforts of Home by Atlanta Bartlett and I've been obsessed with this bedroom ever since! The bed, white w ...

Mother’s Day in MD
I spent last weekend with my mom for mother's day and thought I'd share some pictures from my time there. She lives in historic little Berlin, Maryland which is right outside of Ocean City, MD.My mom has quite a green thumb and spends all of her free time in her glorious garden. She can tell you all about everything in there too. And it's this ever changing thing - she is constantly replanting this and that. She tells me it's already changed since I took these pics. Take a look…We went into OC for a day to check out Springfest and the boardwalk. I was a complete glutton, eating my way through boardwalk fries with vinegar, ice cream, and ...
