October Facebook Cover Images

Personal

I’m pretty sure I’m one of the 5 people in the world who doesn’t loooooove fall. I enjoy apple cider, pumpkin carving, and the amazing colors in this area but I know that fall is just a few short weeks away from being winter. Winter means frozen fingers and toes, layers that make me look stay-puft, runny noses, bleak landscapes, and a general regional attitude of “I’m sick and cold and miserable so stay away from me.”

So as much as I would like to enjoy this season, I just can’t fully give in because I know how bad it will be all too soon. In this area it seems we get a few glorious days of fall before we all have to break out our parkas and fuss faces.

I will try to indulge in those blissful, colorful days but it’s hard. I’m pretty sure the tree at our new house intuited this about me and so it’s trying to make me feel better about the whole thing. You see, so far it’s the only one of the street to burst into an incredible fiery mess or reds, oranges, and yellows. I am happy to look out my front door or drive up the street and see this glorious tree beaming just for me.

Every month, I feature new images for download for you to use as your Facebook cover photo. Click to download these images and see them at their full size and resolution.

“Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter.”

Winter is the time when I can finally breathe again after the madness of fall and the gazillions of weddings that it brings. I use the winter to deal heavily with the advertising/marketing/business end of it all. It’s also when I have the opportunity for professional education. There’s a photography conference in mid-January and I look forward to it every year. This year the Digital Wedding Forum Convention was held in New Orleans. It gathers some of the biggest rock stars of the industry for small classes, shootouts (not nearly as dangerous as it sounds), mentoring sessions, and an all-around good time. A group of us went out and played ...

In Texas Getting Schooled
I'm going to be M.I.A. for the next few days. I'll be in San Antonio, Texas for a photography convention. I'll be spending my days steeped in educational workshops, industry discussions, kick ass shoot-outs, an overwhelming expo, and generally getting my photo on!I thrive on learning and get so psyched for the yearly convention. Remember that nerdy kid who loved taking notes and using her highlighters? Yeah, that was me. I'm thrilled for the hands-on fun and classroom lessons. If you're another photographer attending either the DWF Convention or Imaging USA and want to meet up for coffee of drinks, just let me know!Because of this, I can' ...

Here's a brief rundown of LDP news…Moved across the country! I am now settled into my new home in Narberth, PA which is right outside of Philadelphia. I grew up around here on the Main Line and am looking forward to getting reconnected with old friends and eating water ice again.Website update. My site (www.lindsaydocherty.com) now has two sites within: weddings and lifestyle. It was time to expand and build a separate site for weddings. The lifestyle site is still dedicat ...
