Philadelphia Anniversary Photographer | Old City | Vanjul + Adarsh

Engagement

Vanjul and Adash’s session is like an engagement session but a few years after the fast. They were actually married 3 years ago in India but they don’t have any pictures of themselves from their day so they decided to make up for lost time with a sweet session in beautiful (albeit very chilly) Philadelphia.

Though there wasn’t rain the day of our session, they brought it to commemorate the rain that came down in buckets on the day of their wedding, long enough for everyone to get soaked.

Vanjul currently lives in Philadelphia, finishing her residency in pulmonology while Adarsh is in Connecticut finishing his residency in cardiology. After this long distance stretch (which began 6 months after their marriage), they’ll be moving to Washington together.

The two have been together twelve years, first meeting in medical school. There is debate over first moves.

In the little bits of free time that they do have together they golf, watch TV, and play with their sweet kitten, Cocoa.

I loved what they did with this session. The outfits, Vanjul’s bright red lipstick, and the feeling of Philly’s frosty and historic Old City made for a gorgeous combination that looks like it could have taken place in the 50s.

Philadelphia Couples Photographer | Valley Green Inn | Carol + Walter
I photographed Carol and Walter in a session that may have been my favorite of all time. Most of my couples are in their twenties or thirties and have known each other a few years. I meet them and see that they are completely smitten that they’ve found the partner who will be there for better or for worse for the next 50 years. And then I get a call from Carol who wants an anniversary session with her husband, Walter. The difference here is that they have been married for 50 years (anniversary on January 12th). What is amazing, inspiring, and wonderful is that they are still completely smitten that they have found that partner in each other. ...

Engagement Session Photography in Philadelphia: Clare + Brian
Some people dread photography sessions. They worry they’re going to be making a really dumb face or that it’s going to be an excruciating experience with a lot of “turn your head just so and hold it for the next 30 minutes” or they’re just not too keen on having a camera pointed directly at them for an evening. I don’t know Brian’s reasoning but he was one of those people; he was completely nervous. What’s funny is that this group of people doesn’t take bad pictures. In fact, I would even say that this session would be in my top 5 of all time. Yeah, seriously. We didn’t hit up every Philadelphia attraction known to man, we didn’t go in ...
